Elegant crochet scarf

Here is the diagram for it:

These are all simple single crochets, but not all are knitted in the usual way. More on this below, but for now I want to give a small note from myself to the diagram: I make two additional single crochets along the edges. It’s easier to knit this way and, it seems to me, the knitting looks a little neater.

Now let's move on to the knitting itself. First we need a base: we cast on a chain of loops that are a multiple of five, then we knit five rows with single crochets. Now comes the fun part. In the photo below, red dots indicate where to insert the hook for knitting five tricky sc and five simple sc:

Now, as usual, insert a hook and grab the thread:

Pull out the loop:

Here you need to make sure that the loop does not twist. If this happens, then from the back the view will be even more unpleasant than from the front. To improve the situation, you can remove the loop from the hook and put it on again, adjusting the thread. However, I preferred to tighten and pull the loop again several times, if necessary, until the threads themselves lay correctly.

Now there are two loops on the hook, we knit them together. We get an elongated sc:

We knit four more similar columns, each time going up one row higher:

We get this pattern of five elongated sc:

The following is a regular sc:

In total you need to knit five regular sc. So we return to the beginning of the report:

There are different patterns using elongated single crochets. For example.

They gave me 3 skeins of yarn, green in different shades, 100 g each, half-wool/half-acrylic.
I decided to knit a set, hat + scarf. I was just about to learn a new technique - entrelak, and then such an opportunity came up. That's what came out of it.

In those entrelakom hats that I had seen before, I usually didn’t like the top. As I understand it, due to the specifics of knitting entrelak, usually the loops are gradually reduced and knitted using the same method, only with ever smaller squares. I decided to return all the loops to one needle. To do this, I knitted the last triangle at the end, as it was called in the description, according to which I studied the entrelak technique, but I did not close the last loop, but left it on the knitting needle. I took a photo of the intermediate stage:

Then I knitted a “double bottom” on the resulting loops; this method of knitting the bottom was harmoniously combined with entrelak. To briefly describe it, I removed the loops of half the triangles (every other triangle) on an additional knitting needle, and knitted them through one, decreasing in each row, incl. purlwise, one loop on each triangle. I knit the lower bottom with a color of medium brightness, then the upper bottom from the loops removed on an additional knitting needle is also in a dark color. Dark color That’s why I started it, because I tied it with a “crawfish step” crochet from the bottom.

The hat can be worn in different ways, hanging the top back or to the side.

You can fold it in half if desired (or if it’s cold).

I immediately decided not to knit the scarf with entrelak, it seems too clumsy to me, and besides, I wanted to knit the scarf with small longitudinal stripes, as is fashionable here now. Having considered all the ways of knitting longitudinal stripes on knitting needles, I found them too labor-intensive, and decided to crochet them.
As if by the way, I have been crocheting quite recently, before I only tied the edges of products, and so far I only knit with one stitch. In my opinion, this is called a single crochet, and is knitted through a row, either behind the front or behind the back piece. Before this, I recently crocheted a wallet and handbag with the same pattern. Only the scarf is tricolor.

Now I wear the scarf tied in a loop, i.e. So

How to knit a double bottom.
Knit a hat of the desired length. Divide the knitting into 12 approximately equal parts. (In entrelak, knitting is clearly divided into squares, so I used them. If there are not 12 parts, it’s not scary). Slip the loops of the even parts onto the second knitting needle, and the odd ones onto the auxiliary thread. (I shot with additional knitting needles and cable). Knit the remaining loops on the knitting needle in stocking stitch, evenly decreasing 5-6 loops in each row. (At first I decreased 1 loop in each front row of each part, but the bottom turned out to be convex, like in a budenovka. This worked for the previous hat, but not for this one. I had to re-tie it, decreasing 1 loop in each, including the purl , row of each part). When 1 loop remains from each part, remove the loops onto the thread and pull tightly. This turned out to be the bottom bottom of the hat. Transfer the loops from the auxiliary thread to the knitting needle.
and tie the top bottom in the same way.

How to knit a scarf

To crochet a men's scarf, you first need to decide on the color. In principle, it can be knitted in a single color, but the striped version looks much more interesting and complex. For stripes, you can take two or three colors, and the shades can be any. Here you can focus on the preferences of the future owner of the scarf or the main palette of his wardrobe.

You need to knit a scarf according to the following pattern:

First you need to cast on a chain of 500 chain stitches with a gray thread. If the product needs to be longer or shorter, you can simply experiment with the quantity. It is worth noting that 500 loops is 132 cm. This length is enough to wrap a scarf around your neck. In this case, the ends are long enough to be tucked freely into a coat or jacket and not get in the way.

In the first row, groups of four double crochets alternate with chain loops:

For the second row, you need to repeat the pattern “4 chain loops + single crochet.” This is what it will look like:

Now you can take a thread of a different color, in this example black, and continue knitting according to the pattern:

This is what the fourth row of the product should look like:

In the fifth row, white yarn is included in knitting:

The sixth row is performed in the same way as the rest, only with white thread. The first color block is ready:

You can alternate colors in any order you like. If you stick to the “gray + black + white” option, you will get this men’s scarf:

If desired, it can be tied even wider or, conversely, narrower. The finishing touches will be rows of half-columns designed to align the edges of the product. First you need to do this with black yarn:

Then repeat the same thing, but with a gray thread:

The finished men's scarf needs to be steamed through a layer of fabric or wet and dried in a towel.

A warm and beautiful product will delight its owner for a long time, warming and protecting him in the cold months.

A scarf is a necessary accessory in any wardrobe, both women's and men's. It's not only practical thing, which will warm you during cold weather, but also a very fashionable detail. A properly selected scarf will make your look complete and complete.

Every fashionista's wardrobe has at least five different scarves, among which there is sure to be a two-tone striped scarf.

Features and Benefits

A scarf is relevant at any time of the year, but is especially necessary in winter. For cold weather, scarves made of cashmere or wool are usually chosen; for warmer periods, scarves made of chiffon, silk, satin or cotton are chosen. A scarf always has two main accents: on the one hand, it important detail winter (as well as autumn and spring) wardrobe. It will help you warm up, it will add a feeling of coziness and comfort. On the other hand, a scarf is a very important accessory that you need to know how to choose and wear correctly. Scarf fashion, like any other, has its own trends, rules and laws.

So, a few rules that do not depend on the season or fashion. Remember, not tied long scarf visually makes the figure slimmer. If your scarf is in subtle shades, such as apricot or pink, your face will look more youthful. The most popular colors for scarves are red, blue, and beige. They suit almost everyone. So feel free to use them in your everyday looks. Colorful and even two-color scarves go well with more plain clothes.

Fashion trends

Now a little about the main trends of the new season autumn - winter 2017. Good news! This season's scarf can be anything: knitted, knitted, wool and even fur. The same variety is observed in forms: long, short, narrow and very wide, scarf-hood, snood, scarf in the form of a scarf, scarf-plaid, etc. Choose which one you like best!

Large knitting in the form of diamonds, elastic bands, careless braids or simply intertwined threads is in fashion. Current materials for winter knitted scarves are mohair, angora or wool. One of the most popular colors is striped two-tone scarves.

To complement two-tone scarves, fringe is in fashion this season. Therefore, if a simple scarf seems too boring to you, choose models with fringe. They will definitely add a touch of eccentricity to your look. The fringe can be either at the ends of the scarf or along its entire length. In this case, it is better to tie the ends, showing all the beauty of such an accessory.

Scarves-stoles, in which you can wrap yourself and keep warm in bad weather, do not give up their position. Wear stoles both as a cape over outerwear and under it. By the way, stoles with large stripes are found in many collections of the 2017 season. Stripes are everywhere!

Bright colors are still relevant: orange, purple, red, yellow, pink, blue. For scarves large knit choose calmer shades - dark blue, gray, dark green.

Another innovation is a puffed scarf, which replicates the texture and color of a down jacket. This scarf can be smooth or quilted, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is that there should be no decorations or decorative details. However, the presence of a print or logo is allowed.

IN men's fashion The “oversized” principle reigns. The tone is set by scarves that are not just large, but enormous in size. They are long and wide at the same time. Otherwise the same principles apply as in women's fashion– large knitting, fringe, stripes. Only the colors are not as bright. Black, grey, beige, blue, khaki – classic colors and combinations are not inferior to their positions this season.

How to wear

The easiest way to tie a scarf is to wrap it around your neck. But you can do different things with the free ends. You can leave them just hanging, you can throw one end over your back and leave the other in front, or you can secure them with a belt at the waist if you have chosen a very long scarf.

Remember that a chunky knit scarf suits negligence. Therefore, simply throw it over your shoulders and secure the loose ends if desired.

You can also fold a long two-color scarf in half and thread the ends into the resulting loop. Pull the ends together to create a neatly tied scarf. Such a knot is now called a la Sherlock Holmes. The culprit for this is Benedict Cumberbatch, who prefers to wear a scarf this way in his role as the most famous detective of all time.

In men's fashion, casually hanging scarves that cannot be tied are popular. But if you're cold, wrap the scarf lightly around your neck. This image is also acceptable.

Stylish looks

This winter, not only any shapes and colors of scarves are in fashion, but also their incredible combinations. Sophistication and carelessness, wealth and minimalism, strict silhouette and volume - everything you can think of. The main goal of this crazy eclecticism is to give the opportunity to show your individuality, emotionality and originality.

A classic two-tone scarf can be worn not only with outerwear: a fashionable down jacket, leather jacket or coat. This scarf will look stylish with dresses of any length from maxi to mini, jeans, leather trousers, silk blouses and sweaters. A knitted scarf can now complement even a thin, elegant dress. Don't be afraid to experiment!

When choosing a scarf, use two opposing rules:

  1. The principle of similarity. Determine the main color of your look and choose a similar scarf. At the same time, the image itself should not have bright details and should not have flashy tones. Let it be without accents. The scarf will only enhance the given direction. This option is ideal for creating everyday looks, office and street looks.
  2. The principle of contrast. Here, a long striped scarf is ready to take center stage and set the tone for your entire look. It can be on its own, or supported by some other accessories (gloves, bag or sweater). It doesn't have to be a flashy shade. You can simply choose a scarf that is much darker or lighter than the main tone.

For a three-color pullover with a raglan fastener, fine-grained patterns with a smoother texture were chosen, and for the scarf, an expressive one relief pattern from “braids”, which looks most advantageous in one color.

You will need: yarn (60% alpaca wool, 40% sheep wool; 65 m/50 g): for a pullover - 250 (300) 300 g dark gray, 250 (250) 300 g yellow and 300 (350) 350 g beige; for a scarf - 400 g yellow; knitting needles No. 8; circular knitting needles No. 8; 6 beige buttons with a diameter of 30 mm.

Braid pattern: the number of loops is a multiple of 4 + 2 p. + 2 chrome. Knit according to the given pattern. The diagram shows only the front rows. In the purl rows, knit loops according to the pattern. In width, start from the edge. and from loops before repeat, repeat repeat, end with loops after repeat and edge. Perform in height 1 time from 1st to 50th row, 1 time from 100th to 184th row. and repeat the sequence of patterns 1 more time = 368 rows in total.
Important: knit a pattern of “braids” with the edges in a “chain”: in knits, rows 1st st, knit knit crossed, at the end in front last loop row, direct the thread back (away from you) and remove the last loop, as with purl knitting; in purl rows, purl the 1st stitch crossed, before the last loop of the row, direct the thread forward (towards you) and remove the last loop, as in purl knitting.
