In this article we will look at how to make original multi-colored pendants, bracelets and cool oven badges with your own hands at home.

DIY plastic keychains

In order to make cool keychains and badges from the oven we will need scissors, a hole punch, permanent markers or acrylic paint and, of course, transparent plastic packaging (container) for cakes, cookies, etc.

Look, the packaging must have an emblem with the number 6. We only need completely flat transparent plastic, which is even, we don’t need anything else. Since we don’t need all the ribbed plastic, we just get rid of it.

Making badges from plastic

Let's take it stationery knife and cut out only the plastic that we need, namely flat. Then we choose any pictures we like for the icons. The easiest way is to find them on the Internet through a smartphone or planet to make it more convenient to work. You need to choose larger images, because when heated in the oven they will decrease in size by 5-7 times and will become too small if you initially make them like this, but at the same time they will increase in thickness up to 3 mm.

After we have found pictures that suit us, we take plastic prepared to size, place it on top and transfer the image using a permanent marker, since it will not be erased in the future. At this stage, you can immediately decorate your product with colored markers. Also, if you are good at drawing, you can draw your future icon on paper and then transfer it to plastic in the same way.

We take scissors and cut out our blanks. We move them to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, otherwise you will have difficulty separating them from the baking sheet.

Set the oven to heat up to 150-170 degrees. Then we take a baking sheet with our preparations and place it in the oven for a few minutes (2-3 minutes, it all depends on how the transformation process goes). Don’t be alarmed when the blanks begin to curl up before your eyes. After about a minute they will straighten out, but decrease in size. After this process, we take them out and lightly press them with something flat so that they straighten completely.

Look at the preparations and what our badges looked like after the oven.

If you did not color the blanks with permanent markers in advance, then use acrylic paint. Mix the colors we need and paint the icons with reverse side(Necessarily). The result is very cool badges, almost store quality.

Making fasteners for badges

Next, attach the pin to the back of the badge using super glue. For better adhesion of the glue to the surface, sprinkle the gluing area with soda. If you make a hole in them, these badges can be used as keychains. You can also use them to create original multi-colored pendants and bracelets.

DIY box for small items “Chamomile Summer”. Master class with step by step photos

Supervisor: Rudneva Tatyana Vitalievna, head of the creative workshop "Rainbow" of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity named after. Hero of the Soviet Union E.M. Rudneva
Description: This master class is intended for children in grades 5-6, teachers, parents, as well as all creative people who love to decorate everyday life with pleasant little things.
Application: The product can be used to store small items, and also as a container for scraps when working with paper and cardboard.
Target: Decorate the box using decoupage technique with your own hands.
Tasks:
1. Teach children how to decorate a surface using the decoupage technique.
2. Improve skills in working with necessary materials and tools, observing safety rules.
3. Cultivate hard work, accuracy, perseverance.
Equipment: Container from washing powder, file, napkin, brush, acrylic varnish, “Gold” paint, green acrylic paint, acrylic primer, foam sponge.

When you work with paper or cardboard, during the creative process a lot of scraps appear, which spread across the working surface of the table, and sometimes try to escape onto the floor. This creates discomfort and tension. What if all this waste was immediately sent into a small box on the table? What if you also decorate this box yourself? See what comes of it.

PROGRESS

We take a plastic container from washing powder and prime it.

We tear out the fragments we like from the napkin.

Take one of the fragments, place it FACE DOWN on the file and moisten it with water, smoothing out the folds with a soft brush from the center to the edges.

Place the image on the surface (file on top) and carefully expel excess water and air from under the napkin. This can be done with a special roller, or simply with your hands.

We fix the superimposed image acrylic varnish. We continue to apply fragments of the napkin onto the surface to be decorated.

Paint the gaps between the napkin fragments with green paint.

Don't forget to paint the bottom of the container.

After this, we cover the entire surface to be decorated with acrylic varnish.

Finally, use a sponge to apply some gold paint to the top and bottom of the container.

In such a box you can also put various handicraft items - embroidery threads, buttons, ribbons, as well as pencils, scissors, spools of thread and anything else your imagination can tell you. Now handicrafts will be much more enjoyable!

Every housewife strives for ideal cleanliness and order in the house, so all women try to get rid of excess trash as quickly as possible. But you don’t need to be so categorical; for example, plastic food packaging should be saved.
Today we will share with you the secret of creating a charming little thing from plastic containers. Children will be delighted with this idea; by the way, they can be involved in joint production.

YOU WILL NEED
plastic box
scissors
hole puncher
colored permanent markers
PROGRESS
Cut out the bottom of the package. All you need is the flat part of a plastic container.

Print any outline picture. You can use coloring for these purposes.

Redraw the picture onto the plastic using permanent markers. Please note that the final size of the figurine will be reduced by approximately 70%. Therefore, initially the drawing should be large.

Using a hole punch, make a small hole above the design and cut out a plastic figure along the outline.

After preheating the oven to 165 degrees, place the plastic figures on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the figures for exactly 3 minutes.

After baking, each of the figures will become smooth and denser. Now they can be attached as decoration to the bracelet.

These figures can also be used as New Year's toys to the Christmas tree! If you liked this craft idea, share the article with your friends.
My name is Irina, I live in Germany - in a country where absolutely everything is sold in plastic packaging, which migrates in tons from stores to trash cans. I've been doing it for a long time different types handicrafts and am constantly faced with the issue of optimal storage of a bunch of little things that accumulate all the time and require new boxes, caskets, etc. In this master class I want to show several ways to create convenient storage containers from various plastic packaging. The advantage of this kind of containers is that they are easy to make at home, they can be made in any size and in any quantity, the transparency of the plastic allows you to quickly find the right thing, the material for containers can be found in every home, such containers for small items can also be used on in the country house, in the garage, etc...
So, first we’ll make the simplest mini-container from a plastic bottle:

We heat the tip of the knife to make it easier to start cutting the bottle.

Cut the bottle into two parts with a knife. If the bottle does not have edges, in order to avoid large errors when cutting, glue the tape at the required height and cut the bottle exactly along the edge of the tape.

Let's melt the edges of the bottle a little to avoid cutting your hands during further processing. The bottle should be kept at a distance of 0.5-1 cm from the flame, turning evenly. The unevenness of the edges after heat treatment will hide the crocheting.

We heat up a steel knitting needle and make holes along the edge of the bottle, which will have to fit the size of the hook with which we will tie the edges of the bottle.

When piercing plastic with a hot knitting needle, sharp and dark traces of plastic often remain on the surface... They can be removed different ways, I use a regular grater to clean my feet (the sandpaper is too sharp - it damages the surface of the plastic, it’s not very convenient to use a knife)

Now we proceed to crocheting the edge with a single crochet.

We thread the tip of the thread and glue it inside the container.

Then we thread a thick thread into a gypsy needle and sew the entire row with colored thread, without missing a single hole.

We thread the end of the thread and glue it again.

If desired, our small container can be decorated. The easiest way to decorate is with double-sided tape, ribbon and rhinestones. You can also use thread winding on double-sided tape.

Cut the tape to the required length and glue it with double-sided tape. We cut off the excess tape.

We make a bow at the junction, you can stick on a rhinestone and the mini-container is ready!

We make different containers of the required height and glue them with a gun into a larger and denser plastic package (the photo shows the packaging in which we sell food products)

Apply hot glue to the bottom and quickly glue the container to the package (hold it a little so that it sets properly)

We paste double-sided tape, any tape, or wrap it with thread on our box, decorate it with small things, and our first box for small things is ready! I made this box for the dacha to store various little things that you are always looking for in different drawers: pencils, small tools, keys, etc.

If we take our containers from plastic bottles If we make a high harness and thread the lace, then we will get pencil cases that can be either placed or hung. They take up little space and are easy to see

Another option for making boxes for storing small items: in it I used thick plastic cups from Danone yogurt.

The principle of making a box is the same; if the height of the box allows, you can make two tiers from cups, using cardboard (or thick plastic) for the bottom of the second tier, onto which I hot glued the plastic bottom from the packaging.

If desired, boxes for small items can be made with lids. For these purposes, I took old plastic folders, cut them to the size of the box and, after making holes with a hole punch or a hot knitting needle, stitched them together with the edge of the plastic box. Since in the photo I have a two-tier plastic box, for convenience I made a handle from scraps of the folder, which I also glued with hot glue to the bottom of the second tier.

The finishing elements are glued with hot glue.

Large plastic bottles can be used to make excellent containers for storing small toys, designer parts, etc. for a children's room and kitchen. Decorating such containers can be a joint activity for parent and child. The principle of creating such a large container is exactly the same as shown above.

From the remaining top parts of plastic bottles we can make a lot of exotic flowers and decorate our balcony or summer cottage with them. But this is a topic for another master class!

To stand out from the crowd and make your image more original, you don’t have to buy expensive jewelry. Even from ordinary plastic you can make beautiful accessories. This does not require special equipment or professional tools - just a few minutes are enough and you will become the owner of unique badges or keychains that will accompany you everywhere.

To make your own badges for a backpack or jeans, as well as original and stylish jewelry for everyday wear, you will need ordinary disposable plastic tableware of any shape (for example, packaging for cakes, cookies and other sweets, food storage containers, empty bottles, etc.).

To beautifully decorate a backpack, jacket, bag or outerwear, you can make keychains in different styles, depending on the desired image: romantic, free, rebellious, etc. Please note that to make plastic keychains in the oven at home, it is advisable to choose the most transparent products with a flat and smooth surface.

Tools and materials

For home “experiments” with plastic, you will need to prepare in advance basic set tools:

  • scissors or stationery knife;
  • hole punch to make holes;
  • colored markers for drawing;
  • brushes with acrylic paints.

As a future ornament, you can use any ready-made template with an interesting design. This could be an image on paper or even a photo on your phone. All you have to do is make a plastic blank of the required size, attach it to the “object” of copying and trace the drawing.

It is best to use special permanent markers to copy and trace the outline of images. various colors, which are not erased. Don't forget to make holes with a hole punch for the rope or chain.

Please note that the pictures that will be used as a stencil must be large, since the size of keychains, badges and other homemade plastic decorations after “cooking” will decrease by at least three times.

What plastic is needed

To make a badge from a plastic container beautiful and original, and most importantly of high quality, you need to use only smooth surfaces; corrugated ones will not work for this purpose. And, of course, the packaging must be transparent.

If you don’t have a suitable container at hand, use ordinary plastic bottles to make keychains. By the way, to quickly and securely glue pins for badges, use hot melt adhesive.

The better to color

As already written above, to color blank badges cut out from a template or stencil of the required size, it is best to use not ordinary school markers, but permanent markers that cannot be erased with a simple finger movement. Whereas finished keychains can be painted with acrylic paints or nail polish.

Temperature and baking time

One of the important stages of making keychains with your own hands from plastic is their obligatory “baking” in the microwave. After all the models of badges and keychains are ready, simply transfer them to a baking sheet, which must first be covered with parchment, and send the baking sheet to simmer in the oven or microwave oven.

Today, plastic containers are produced in almost any shape and size. And although it is very convenient to use them for storing things, from a design point of view they are not always ideal. Therefore, boxes and trays have to be hidden, locked in closets, put away under beds, or placed in basements and attics.

But you can use one of 13 original solutions that will help you fit containers into the interior of any room. Now you can place all your things in them, eliminating unnecessary furniture.

1. Vertical storage of things

Baking sheets and baking dishes take up a lot of space in the kitchen if you are used to placing them in the same position as when cooking. You can place one baking sheet on top of another and place it in the oven. But in this case, to get the one you need, you will have to lift the rest. And every time before cooking, the oven needs to be emptied... A more convenient option is to store such dishes vertically, using a tall container. Now you just need to choose the desired form...

2. Fits into any interior

Plastic itself can look a little cheap in a bedroom or living room. Therefore, if you need to organize a beautiful storage space that will match the furniture and accessories, just add a few details... Cover the walls of the container with the same textiles that are used for blankets, curtains or pillows. Transparent plastic will look better if you paint it with acrylic spray paint. Additionally, you can attach wheels purchased at a furniture store. Use rope or jute twine as handles.

3. Hide everything unnecessary

Strengthen several plastic containers with plywood, and then cover them with any furniture fabric. If you want the bench to be softer and more comfortable, add several layers of padding polyester between the fabric and plywood. Instead of padding polyester, you can use an old, worn-out blanket. And instead of fabric, if desired, use a blanket. This solution is perfect for rented housing, because such furniture can be easily disassembled and used for other purposes.

4. Use space wisely

Deep shelves are great because you can store a lot of food in them. But what is placed near the back wall is usually not easy to get. And if you still need something, you will have to turn all your supplies upside down. But if you put a simple plastic tray on such a shelf, the task will be greatly simplified. Now you have an analogue of a retractable shelf, which, moreover, is very easy to clean. You can stick beautiful labels on the trays, and it will be even easier to maintain order.

5. Organize a bureau

For some reason, such a convenient piece of furniture for storage as a bureau has gone out of fashion. But in such a chest of drawers with a large number of pull-out shelves it is very easy to store various small items and stationery. You can organize an “office” yourself by equipping an ordinary open chest of drawers with many containers of the same shape and size. It is very convenient to store handicraft materials and work tools in such boxes. And when collected under one roof, the containers will look much neater.

6. Organize a zoo

It is convenient to collect all the toys together in such a container. To set it up you will need woolen rope, cord or twine and wheels for furniture. Several animals can be secured right on the edge of the box, and then it will be easier for the child to figure out what to put where. If there is room for several containers in your baby’s room, you can assign different animals “responsible” for their type of toys.

7. Everything is in sight

The design of a children's room allows for such a democratic material as plastic. Therefore, the containers can be left without additional finishing. Just provide each box with a colored sticker with a specific type of toy on it. And finding the right thing will become very easy.

8. Add some color

Small plastic chests of drawers are great for storing cosmetics. And to ennoble them appearance possible using acrylic paint. It is most convenient to work with a spray can. You can choose several colors that harmonize with each other and apply a pattern using a stencil. A convenient thing can now decorate a bedroom or bathroom.

9. Use the space under your bed

In this case, it is still proposed to hide the container. But it is very convenient and functional to do this. A small handle and wheels allow you to use the space under the bed to store bedding. This design is suitable for those things that need to be hidden every day. You can save on pull-out cabinets and afford a more comfortable mattress.

10. Keep the hallway clean

In a large family, there are often many pairs of shoes in the hallway. Therefore, a feeling of disorder arises even in a clean room. Try storing your shoes in a closet, with separate drawers for each shoe. To prevent shoes from getting mixed up, you can stick photographs of family members on the personal compartments of the plastic chest of drawers.

11. Everything is in order

Large plastic containers are very convenient for storing things that are rarely needed. You can fill your basement or closet with these and not have to worry about the item you need getting lost. Plastic boxes are designed in such a way that they can be attached to each other. But if you need something that is stored below, the entire structure will have to be disassembled. Therefore, it is much more convenient to organize homemade racks from wooden beams. You can fill them by purchasing new containers as needed.

12. Use every centimeter!

To avoid cluttering the floor and walls, you can arrange storage for things directly under the roof. To implement this idea, you will need a shelf made of metal mesh and many identical containers. Now things will not clutter up the usable space. Don't forget to get a convenient stepladder!

13. And an advanced version...

Various sizes and shapes of plastic containers allow you to use almost any place in the house for storage. These can be shelves under the ceiling, above the door, and in any other place. You can see a couple of ideas in industrial buildings...
Sort out all the little things and find each group its place. And it will be much easier to maintain order in the house!
