To make a pirate vest, you can use an old jacket with cut off sleeves, sewing massive pockets and bright large buttons onto it. You should definitely choose a dark vest. If trousers can be simple, but also necessarily dark and short, then boots are needed up to the knees and even higher. If desired, you can convert them into “real” boots. But you need to prepare a light-colored belt with a massive buckle. And we must not forget about the most important accessories of this look, which will be another reason for you to show your extraordinary imagination. And this pirate has a lot of different jewelry: from belts to rings, from bracelets to pendants, from a sword with a pistol to a compass. Perhaps now your little son will be simply delighted!

Without oriental beauties and the mysterious Aladdin, perhaps, not a single carnival is complete, be it corporate party or a children's party. But children are especially picky about details - who among the boys hasn’t watched “Aladdin’s Magic Lamp” a hundred times, who hasn’t imagined themselves in the place of the main character! And mom needs to try hard to translate a wonderful idea into an equally wonderful execution!

So, we have prepared everything for our future masterpiece, it’s time to think about the basis - the pattern. Before starting work, I watched a cartoon about Aladdin for a long time; I really wanted to please my son. While enjoying watching it, all my thoughts were still busy creating the pattern... In fact, everything turned out to be much simpler than I imagined.

Bloomers for our Aladdin costume are perhaps the simplest item of clothing. The pattern was developed by eye, without a side seam. This is the simplest option for sewing carnival trousers. In this case, you just need to make them wide; after all, it’s the east. In the photo the arrows indicate the size of the indent for the width of one trouser leg, adjust it yourself to your taste.

By the way, many things that are sewn without a pattern are made by craftswomen based on the child’s existing clothes, simply using them as a pattern.

For Aladdin's shirt, I used a classic pattern, however, I omitted all the darts, I just took it with a margin in width, because... Oriental clothing assumes a loose fit to the figure.

The sleeve pattern is also typical for any shirt pattern, but I made a loose gather at the shoulder and modified the hem of the sleeve to further accommodate the elastic fit.

The pattern of Aladdin's cloak is simple: it is a regular half-sun.

What remains is the most complex and intricate part of Aladdin's costume - the unnamed thing that turns off the front, shoulders and back of the shirt. At the same time, she holds the cloak.

I omit the hem patterns, since you can safely make them using the elements of the finished pattern of the main parts.

Now we carefully cut out everything, not forgetting about the allowances, and begin sewing the children's Aladdin costume.

Let's start with the bloomers. Before us are 2 pieces of trousers. We sew them together one by one along the inner seam. We get 2 simple pipes.

Then we turn one pipe right side out and insert it into the other. Thus, along the line of contact we get a seam. Let's sew it together.

We devote another 5 minutes to hem the bottom of each pant leg.

And another 3 minutes to process the belt.

We insert elastic bands into the bottom of the legs with a width of 5 mm and into the waistband - 15 mm. Aladdin's bloomers are ready.

Shirt for Aladdin's New Year's costume

We start by sewing the sleeves.

Don’t forget to immediately decorate the bottom of the sleeve with an elastic band.

Then we sew the front of the shirt, leaving room in front for the fastener. We decorate the seam with gold braid. After this, we sew the shoulder seams and finish the neck of Aladdin's shirt with a gold brocade hem. All that remains to do at this stage is to sew on some more strings.

Now it’s time to tackle the “thing without a name.” From gold brocade and sheet padding polyester we cut out a part according to the pattern given above. I used padding polyester for volume so that this thing would stick out on the shoulders. The most difficult part in this process is turning the part out. It took me about 25 minutes to do this.

Now we lay out our shirt on the table or on the floor (not sewn at the side seams and without sleeves) so that it is in 1 layer, i.e. so that there is free access to both the back and the front. We attach the “thing without a name” to the shirt in the right places and then sew it with a decorative seam.

Now, with a clear conscience, we sew the side seams, sew in the sleeves and process the bottom of the shirt.

Aladdin shirt is ready.

Cloak for children's Aladdin costume

Next, using the pattern from white crepe satin and purple brocade, we cut out a cloak. We sew, turn inside out and trim with gold braid. Then we attach our cloak with a hidden seam under the gold thing without a name on the back of the shirt. This way we get a one-piece shirt with a raincoat.

Turban for Aladdin costume

For the turban, a thin white velor cap was used. For volume, a piece of sheet padding polyester was sewn onto it, which, in turn, was decorated with crepe satin. The turban was then decorated with a brooch and a feather.

Also, to fully match the cartoon character, a chiffon train was sewn behind. The entire turban was assembled on an improvised mannequin that corresponded to the size of the child’s head.

DIY shoes for Aladdin costume

What would an oriental prince's costume be without shoes with curved toes? Everything must be perfect for us, so to create Aladdin’s shoes we take:

- child's Czechs;

- glue gun;

— gold stretch brocade;

- padding polyester or cotton wool;

- bells and threads for stitching.

Using a gun, we cover the shoes with gold brocade.

Then we stuff the curved socks with padding polyester.

We carefully sew them together.

Sew on the bells. Aladdin's shoes are ready!

I also decided to make a real wide oriental belt for our Aladdin, which would be attached with buttons.

DIY flying carpet for Aladdin

Well, what would Aladdin be without an airplane carpet! There are no limits to your imagination here, I made a rug from the remains of brocade and sheet synthetic padding, trimmed with fringe and gold braid.

After gluing the joint, wrap the cardboard rim with foam rubber, and then cover it with brocade on top, making a seam from the wrong side.

The next step is to make a pattern for the top of the hat. This is extremely simple to do: draw a circle with a diameter of 36 cm on the fabric. Cut out a piece of foam rubber of the same size. Connect the foam and fabric circle with a seam along the edge.

Sew the top part of the hat to the side, making small or large folds on it along the entire circumference so that in the end the diameter of both parts coincides.

The last step is finishing. Sew a feather on the front, and shiny brooches or pearl buttons on the leg on the sides.

All red parts of the costume must be painted with “spider web”. It wouldn’t hurt to embroider tiny “spiders” or stick them as appliques on clothes in different places. This is the simplest option. A more difficult option for those who know at least a little sewing.

First, decide on a mask. You need to decide whether it will be a full-fledged mask that covers the child’s head and face or partially leaves the face exposed. Use fabric that has good stretch while still being breathable. In a breathable suit, the child will be comfortable and pleasant at the matinee. If everything is clear with a closed mask, then the open version can be a tight red cap and glasses. Bright face painting will help complement the image.

Let's move on to the costume. The lower part is blue tight leggings. If there are no red boots, you can sew red inserts with a cobweb drawn with a felt-tip pen or paints in the shin area. To reproduce a soldier's costume as similar to the original as possible, you will need to try. Let's start with an integral part of the image - the cap. It’s great if the small size cap was left over from a friend or relative who served in the service. If not, you'll have to sew. Use the instructions below:

1. Choose a khaki color fabric.

4. Transfer the pattern onto the fabric.
5. Cut and sew the pieces.
6. Press the seams.
7. Turn out and iron the entire surface of the cap.

Add 1 cm allowances to the finished drawing and cut out the blank. Fasten the parts with pins or baste, and then stitch them on a typewriter. Don’t forget that what makes a tunic recognizable is the stand-up collar, patch pockets and, of course, the shoulder straps.
