Tilda style dolls have extraordinary magnetism. These dolls bring a little bit of something truly magical and fabulous into your home. DIY Santa Claus Tilda is no exception.

This year let's plant the most magical Santa Claus under the Christmas tree in tilde style! Santa Claus Tilda master class will require a little preparation.

To make Santa Claus in Tilda style you need:

  • doll pattern
  • flesh-colored calico
  • fleece white and red
  • striped cotton or red polka dots
  • black felt
  • stuffing for dolls (sintepon or holofiber)
  • white beard yarn
  • threads of different colors
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • accessories for decoration (buttons, bells)

Print out the pattern and cut out the details of the craft. The pattern template is at the bottom of the article.

We fold the calico in half. We place the parts of the torso and arms on top of the fabric. We outline them.

We make stitches in two layers of fabric on a machine along these contours. We leave open the sections at the bottom of the body and at the top of the arms (stuffing will be done through them).

We cut out the stitched parts, retreating from the seam by about 5-7 mm.

We twist the torso and arms. We stuff them with padding polyester.

We sew up the open sections.

We sew the arms to the body.

From polka dot fabric we cut out 4 leg pieces. The details of the boots are made of felt (two in one direction, two looking mirrored in the other direction). Sew the top section of the boots to the bottom section of the legs.

We stack the finished leg parts in pairs on top of each other with the front sides facing inward. We sew along the contour, leaving the upper sections of the leg parts open for stuffing.

Turn your legs right side out. We fill them with padding polyester up to the middle. Make a cross stitch as indicated on the pattern just above the stuffing.

We sew up the upper sections of the legs and sew them to the body.

This is what we should get.

From red fleece we cut out:

  • 2 fur coat parts
  • 2 pants pieces
  • 2 cap parts
  • 2 sleeve parts

From white fleece we cut out:

  • cuffs for sleeves and legs
  • flap for cap
  • the edge of the lower edge of the fur coat
  • front panel for fur coat

We fold the parts of the cap together with the front sides facing inward. We stitch on the machine, leaving the bottom edge open. Turn it right side out. Sew a white fleece flap along the bottom edge.

We sew white fleece cuffs to the lower edges of the sleeves and legs.

First sew the front strip vertically in the center to the front part of the fur coat. Sew a trim along the bottom edge of the front and back of the fur coat.

Fold the fur coat pieces right sides inward and sew the shoulder seams. Sew sleeves into the armholes of the fur coat.

Fold the fur coat again with the right side inward and sew up the sides. We start from the edges of the sleeve and end with the bottom edge of the fur coat. Turn the fur coat right side out.

Fold each pant leg in half and sew crotch seams.

Place one pant leg into the other so that their front sides match and the open edges match. Sew along the midline. Turn the pants right side out.

We put on pants for Santa Claus. Pin evenly around the body, collecting small folds.

Dress Santa in a fur coat and hat.

Embroider eyes on the face of Santa Claus with black thread.

We cut threads from yarn and sew them to the face of Santa Claus. We will get a luxurious thick beard.

Make a pompom from the same yarn and sew it to the tip of the cap.

Decorate the fur coat with buttons and give Santa a bell in his hand.

What is Santa Claus without gifts? We sew a luxurious bag from bright red fabric and tie it with golden braid. We plant our magical character under the Christmas tree. The “DIY Santa Claus Tilda” master class has come to an end.

  • Draw a diameter on the circle and divide it into three parts, the points equidistant from the center will be the legs.
  • Wrap the circle on one side with bright felt or fabric, glue the edges on the inside, thread the wire through the holes and form loops in place of the feet.
  • Wind a thinner wire to the middle of the wire; its length should be greater than the height of the cone. To prevent the figure from losing its balance, the junction of the circle and the wire must be generously glued with a glue gun.

  • Cut out two rectangles from fabric about 4 cm wide and 10 cm longer than the length of Santa Claus's legs. Sew from the long side, turn it inside out and put it on the legs. Baste to the bottom of the circle.
  • Cut a cone out of white felt, sew and turn right side out. Fill it tightly with synthetic down and thread a thin wire through it, sew it to the circle with a hidden seam.
  • Cut out the soles from thick cardboard or plywood; they should be larger than the wire loops. Glue the soles using a glue gun. Glue foam shoes on top.

  • Cover the boots with red felt and pull them down at the bottom.
  • Draw eyes and mouth at the top of the cone
  • From red felt or fleece, cut out Santa Claus's fur coat, as well as handles. The handles must be sewn and filled with synthetic synthetic material.
  • Sew the fur coat directly to the cone with a hidden seam and decorate it with decor as you wish.

  • Cut a white collar from white fleece and sew on it.
  • Sew handles to the fur coat on both sides.
  • Next, from the existing wool, you need to comb a beard and mustache and carefully attach them to the face of Santa Claus.

Do-it-yourself volumetric Santa Claus

You can fold a three-dimensional figure of Santa Claus using the modular origami technique, which has become very popular in the last ten years.

The product is assembled from identical modules, which allow you to create any shape.

The technique for creating a module is as follows:

  1. Having folded the required number of modules of a certain color, you can proceed directly to assembly
  2. At the base there are 25 BM (white modules), placed on the short side in a circle
  3. In the second row, place 25 BM in the same way as in 1, but on the long side and put it on the 1st row.
  4. The third row repeats the previous one
  5. In the fourth row, place 25 CM (blue modules) on the long side
  6. Fifth row: 22cm on the long side and 3cm on the short side, turn the ring out
  7. In the sixth row there are 4 BM and 21SM, all with the long side out
  8. In the seventh row there are 5 BM and 20 SM, located as in the previous row
  9. In the eighth row there are 6 BM and 19 SM, located as in the previous row
  10. In the ninth row there are 7 BM and 18 CM, located as in the previous row
  11. In the tenth row there are 8 BM and 17 SM, located as in the previous row
  12. In the eleventh row there are 25 BMs, located as in the previous row
  13. In the twelfth row there are 25 BM, located as in the previous row
  14. In the thirteenth row there are 1KM and 24 BM, located as in the previous row
  15. In the fourteenth row there are 2 BMs with the long side outward above the CM of the 13th row, on both sides of them there are 2 TMs (body modules) with the short side, the remaining 19 BMs
  16. In the fifteenth row there are 7 TM and 18 BM with the long, short and long sides facing outwards, respectively.
  17. In the sixteenth row there are 8 TM and 17 BM with the long, short and long sides facing outwards, respectively.
  18. In the seventeenth row, reduce the number of elements of the row by putting 6 modules on 3 corners, a total of 22 BM with the short side outward
  19. In the eighteenth row, 20 cm outward with the short side
  20. In the nineteenth 18 CM short side out
  21. In the twentieth 9 BM short side forward

DIY Santa Claus hat: pattern

DIY Santa Claus costume pattern can be compiled in accordance with the parameters, however, it is not at all necessary to take measurements; you can use a household item of the appropriate size, for example, trace a jacket on the fabric, lengthening the front and back. If you are sewing a suit for a child, then the sleeves can be made in one piece, but for an adult it is better to cut the sleeves and then sew them on separately.

The most popular costumes for the New Year's party, but it is important not only to sew the outfit itself, but also to make the necessary accessories. For the Snow Maiden you need to make a crown, and for Santa - a cap.

The images of Santa Claus and Father Frost are very similar: the main characters of the holiday in foreign countries (Europe, America) and in our country, as well as other countries of the post-Soviet space, are similar in many ways, but not in the headdress, which is their main difference.

Santa is the main harbinger of Christmas, he sneaks into the house at night on Christmas Eve through the chimney and leaves gifts for children in a Christmas stocking. He is always accompanied on his travels by elves, who are his main assistants, and the team is harnessed to reindeer. Santa Claus always comes on New Year's Eve, behind him is a huge red bag with gifts that only the most obedient children will receive. Frost “red nose” always arrives on a sleigh, and he has horses in his harness, so that it is more convenient for grandfather to move along the snow-covered paths, he leans on a magic staff. He is accompanied by a beautiful girl - his granddaughter Snegurochka.

Both Father Frost and Santa Claus wear a red caftan, but Santa's is short and belted with a thick black belt, while Grandfather wears a long caftan that reaches to his toes, which resembles a bathrobe, with a belt tied around his stomach. In the harsh conditions of the North, Grandfather cannot do without felt boots and mittens, and Santa has stylish boots on his feet.

If you want to create the right image of Grandfather with a red nose, then the right one must be sewn DIY Santa Claus hat, pattern should be the same as for a regular hat. Outwardly, it resembles a low fur hat, which both women and men wear in Russia, only red material is used to sew it, preferably velvet, but you can choose more affordable options - fleece. The bottom strap is always decorated with faux fur.

The Santa cap looks completely different. And if you decide sew a Santa Claus costume with your own hands, pattern must be chosen correctly, otherwise you will end up with the image of a foreign Santa.

It is very easy to sew a cap, we will use fleece for this, it will need two colors - white and red. To make the cap neat, we will also need lining fabric and padding polyester.

The main part of our cap is an equilateral triangle with a height of 50 cm. You can calculate the length of the base if you know the circumference of your head. This parameter should be divided in half, and you should also set aside a centimeter on the cuts for the seams.

The contours of the pattern should be transferred to the wrong side of the fleece, folded in half. Additionally, you need to cut out two white strips of the same length as the base of the triangle from white material. The width of the slats is approximately 7 cm.

When the four parts are ready, they should be sewn in pairs: a white strip and a red triangle. First, they should be pinned together along the base side and machine stitched.

Then the two finished parts need to be sewn on the sides. Additionally, you can decorate the cap with stars or snowflakes, and sew a fluffy pompom on the tip.

Felt is a very convenient material for needlewomen, because it does not need to be processed along the edges. When you sew other felt toys, you can finish the edges with a regular hand stitch; there is no need to sew the parts on the wrong side with a machine seam, and then turn the parts inside out. Very small elements, such as eyes and a nose, can simply be glued to the fabric base.

If you think how to sew Santa Claus with your own hands, pattern will immediately give you the necessary tips. First, you should print it out and cut out the parts, then transfer them to a felt base and carefully cut them out, leaving no seam allowances.

It may turn out to be voluminous; for this, the sewn parts should be filled with padding polyester.

Good afternoon, we again continue to make crafts in the form of Santa Claus and in this article I have collected those that are made of paper. Here you will find great ideas for crafts for kindergarten classes, or for creativity lessons at school. You can make Santa Claus out of paper in a variety of ways. Now you will see all the variety of children's crafts with this New Year's character - both flat applications and voluminous convex applications. As well as crafts based on toilet paper rolls and cardboard cones.

Santa Claus made of paper.

Simple crafts

for babies

A simple application in kindergarten can be made in the form of a New Year's greeting card.

Take a sheet of red cardboard. We bend it in half, forming a postcard. This will be the basis of our children's craft.

Now on the front front side we create an applique of Santa Claus's face. Cut it out pink paper oval, truncated along the side edges - this will be the face. Cut it out charcoal mustache shape, also made of white paper. And small ones clouds of white eyebrows, also with a wavy edge. Nose cut out pink paper of a darker shade than the face.

And the child’s task is to assemble this puzzle according to the teacher’s model, with the correct order: first the face, then the fur of the hat, mustache, and lastly the eyes and nose. A quick and simple application for the younger group of kindergarten.

Here’s another simple job for the younger group of kindergarten. Here the basis of Santa Claus is a TRIANGLE of red cardboard. And all the details fit within this triangle - the beard, the mustache, and the edging of the hat.

And based on the triangle, you can make this original Santa Claus craft, which uses a paper confectionery napkin with an openwork patterned edge. A very beautiful Santa Claus is made from paper. You can buy napkins in the hardware department of the store.

The body shape of Santa Claus made of paper can be any. For example, from two circles - like a slave. Beautiful, simple and similar. You can have a mustache, you can without a mustache. You can have a pompom on your hat, or you can have a pompom on your nose.

You can find templates for such crafts in our new article

You yourself are free to give any shape to the body of Santa Claus. He will still be recognizable. Because he is red and he has a beard.

And even if you want to add any accessories to the image of Santa Claus, this will still not prevent him from being a recognizable symbol of the New Year. Wonder as much as you want. Let your own version of Santa Claus appear, he also likes jokes.

VOLUMETRIC applique

with Santa Claus made of paper.

And here we see techniques that help to create a voluminous layered effect of paper appliqué in the form of Santa Claus.

The first way is to make the beard two-layered, two-tiered. We cut the bottom layer longer, the top layer of the beard shorter. When gluing, we apply glue only to the upper part of the beard so that the layer sticks out freely towards the top. We also make the hat with a fold forward. And a pompom for a hat can be made voluminous from thread or cotton wool, or a wad of crepe paper.

You can fold origami in the form of Santa Claus. The paper fold also creates a volume effect.

The second way is to add volume to Santa Claus's beard using paper curls. We cut white paper into strips of slightly different lengths. We glue the strips onto the edges of the chin of Santa Claus's face, let the glue dry and then screw each strip onto a pencil.

The third way is to create beard volume using a paper CUP CUTTER. We do not coat the corrugated edge of the cupcake tin with glue (only the middle) and it sticks up from the applique, creating volume.

You can also make a fan from a narrow strip of paper and unfold it into a circle. And based on this round fan, make a three-dimensional application of Santa Claus.

The fourth way is to put a layered applique, with layers of stumps. We cut out the applique elements from thick paper and so that the parts RISE and FLOAT ABOVE the cardboard sheet, we use PADS. Thick layers between the applique details and the background. That is, we don’t glue the applique onto the background cardboard - we glue only the layers of stumps, and then we spread the glue only on these stumps and put the applique parts on them. And she hangs in the air.

Spacer layers can be made... firstly, made of thick packaging cardboard(TV box, cardboard egg cassette).

Or the layers can become SPRINGS made of paper(remember in childhood we all wove such an accordion-spring out of two strips of paper). So, short accordion-springs can become stumps on which our applique will rise.

The fifth way to add volume to your paper Santa Claus is to make crafts using the postcard technique with internal volume. Here in the photo below we see a beautiful craft Santa Claus is breaking dancing.

Here we bend the white cardboard in half. And we make cuts across the fold line (perpendicular to the fold line of the card, 2 cm from its edge). The depth of the incision can be any (in the photo below it is 2 cm). The notched part of the postcard is pressed inward with a finger - protruding this fold with a square bench into the postcard. And now to this bench we will glue the “Frosty Fest” PLATE on which Santa Claus stands, upside down.

As a result, it turns out that the body of Santa Claus is hanging in the air. To further give the body stability, you can also stick a strip of paper (folded in the form of a rectangular frame) on the back (behind its belly) - this way it will also be fixed on top.

Here's another idea for a folding card with Santa Claus. I have already described how to do it in detail step by step in the article, so here I will only give a diagram of the templates.

And here is another folding craft in the form of Santa Claus. Also an interesting idea for activities in kindergarten.

CONE paper applique

in the form of SANTA CLAUS.

If you make a TRIANGULAR DOT in a flat circle in the form of a sector (like a piece of pie) ... and then bend this sector and glue it inside (so that the edges of the sector meet into one line of seam-gluing) - then we get a conical part. Convex like a mushroom cap...
Based on this principle of DARTING on a flat circle, we create a convex Santa Claus craft from plain paper. Like this...

But here is a large diagram for this craft - it is in A4 format - you can immediately print it and it will appear correctly in full size on the sheet coming out of your printer. The dart is painted over on the template with a gray background; we bend it along the edges and bring the fold lines closer together. Or you can make a cut along one side of the sector and glue the entire gray sector inside - overlapping edge to edge.

Complex applique

With Santa Claus

You can make a large-scale paper applique in terms of the number of elements - with Santa Claus, reindeer, sleigh, snowmen, city, and other New Year's paraphernalia.

Such complex applications with many elements are best done as a group craft in kindergarten. Each child completes only one element of the applique - and then at the end of the lesson, all the characters and paraphernalia are combined into a large common applique - on a huge sheet of drawing paper.

And in the older group, you can give children a craft task with several appliqué elements, but combined within one New Year's wreath. How this was done is shown in the photo below.

Volumetric Santa Claus made of paper

In the form of a box.

Here is a diagram of the box which, when assembled, forms a figure of Santa Claus. An excellent craft - it’s clear how to draw, what to bend and what to glue. It's easy and quick to make Santa Claus based on a thick sheet of paper.

Three drawings

FOR Santa Claus' SLEED.

Below I want to show another simple craft - a sleigh for Santa Claus. Their assembly principle is simple - there is a bottom (diagram below) and the sides of the sleigh, the back and the footrest are thrown in four directions from the bottom.

Here is another diagram - a little different - but there is nothing complicated here either. Drew, cut out, bent under a ruler(we press an ordinary school ruler firmly against the fold line, and lift the sheet of paper - the fold turns out even, like on factory crafts).

You can make the elements of the sleigh CARVED - that is, make slits in the side parts above the runners of the sleigh - openwork or straight, like on the Soviet sleighs from childhood.

Santa Claus made of paper

Based on PLATE.

Disposable paper plates can be the source of many crafts. And Santa Claus is no exception to this creative series of plate designs. The white round plate, by its very shape, suggests a craft in the form of Santa Claus.

You are free to choose the design of this craft and materials at your discretion. Use whatever comes to mind - cotton pads, paper napkins, paper shavings.

On the basis of a white plate, you can use any volumetric techniques that we use from paper. Everything that this article talked about above can be done on the basis of a plate.

Volumetric crafts

Father Frost

Made from paper and cardboard.

Now let's see what three-dimensional crafts can be made in the form of Santa Claus from paper and cardboard. You can make a ring-clip for a bag of candies in the shape of Santa Claus (as in the left photo below). We wrap the candies in a napkin and pull the ends of the knot through a hair elastic to which a cardboard applique of Santa Claus's head is glued.

You can make a Santa Claus craft with rope arms and legs from a round Christmas ball (or a foam ball), as in the right photo below.

You can make a Santa Claus craft out of paper in the form of balls assembled from strips of colored paper. In the article, I give a detailed master class on how to simply assemble such a ball. If you make two paper balls, a larger one and a smaller one, you can use them to make the head and torso of Santa Claus.

You can cut out Santa Claus from a paper accordion fan. Fold a strip of paper into a fan shape. We lay it out again evenly on the table, mark with a pencil the area of the arms and hats, make a rounding of the body of Santa Claus - and cut off these outlines with scissors. We reassemble the accordion along the old fold lines. And use a hole punch to make a hole in the middle. We insert a cocktail straw into it. And we decorate the silhouette of the craft - adding to it a round face made of pink paper, a beard and a fur hat made of white cotton wool.

You can also make a three-dimensional craft based on a cardboard cone. We make a semicircle out of red cardboard (use a large plate). And we roll this semicircle into a cone-bag. We fasten the edges of the cone with a stapler or put it on double-sided tape (the glue will simply hold the cone weakly, there is a risk that the cardboard cone, under the pressure of compression, will tend to unclench).

You can design the Santa Claus craft itself based on the outline in different designs - a smooth beard made of paper, a voluminous beard made of paper twists, fluffy cotton wool, white threads cut with scissors, or anything else.

You can decorate this craft based on a cardboard cone with additional materials and elements - hands made of fluffy wire with mittens made of velvet paper or felt, a Christmas tree made of paper or cardboard.

White cotton can turn any red object into Santa Claus. A toilet paper roll or plastic plate can easily turn into the beloved Santa Claus of all children.

You can also make an applique of Santa Claus using the QUILLING technique - from rolled paper (as in the photo below).

Christmas decoration

Father Frost

Made from paper and cardboard.

I also want to show interesting options for decorating your home for the New Year in the style of Santa Claus.

You can cut out a large applique for a window from colored paper.

Using the same principle, you can paste the silhouette of Santa Claus's head into the refrigerator door and it will turn out that he is looking out from his freezer. You can find colored cardboard of this format in specialized stationery stores. Or paint large sheets of cardboard from a large box (from a refrigerator, for example) with gouache yourself.

And here is an option where a large application of Santa Claus is made from paper on the door. This is an original and beautiful idea to decorate the door of an office or children's room for the New Year.

Here are some interesting and simple ideas on how to make a Santa Claus craft from paper or cardboard with your own hands.

How to sew a Santa Claus costume? As the New Year approaches, the challenge arises: how to surprise children and adults at the holiday. You can give interesting and tasty gifts, go to mass performances, or arrange congratulations to Santa Claus right at home. On the eve of the New Year, calling Santa Claus to your home is quite expensive. To avoid unnecessary expenses, sew a Santa Claus costume with your own hands. What pattern do you need for a Santa Claus costume? How to quickly sew a suit? You will learn about all this further from my master class.

You will need:

  • Fabric (in this case crepe-satin) 180.0 cm.
  • Faux fur 80.0 cm.

  • Decorations for decoration: rhinestones, sequins, beads, braid, etc.
  • Bias tape in the color of the fabric 30.0 cm.
  • Glue gun (in this case silicone)
  • Threads 3 pcs.
  • Tailor's scissors
  • Tailor's pins
  • Needle and thread
  • Long ruler
  • Figured pattern “6”
  • Sewing machine
  • Machine needle No. 100
  • Overlock

Preparing for cutting

Cutting and sewing a New Year's costume for Santa Claus is not at all difficult. You can take an ordinary housecoat as a basis, translate the pattern from it and use it as a pattern. I have already shown how to do this in the video: .

Cutting out a Santa Claus costume

The Santa Claus costume will consist of: a robe, cape, hat, mittens and belt. First you need to cut out the large parts: the base of the robe and the sleeve, then the cape, hat and mittens. Be sure to iron the fabric before cutting, as the pieces may shrink during sewing. Lay the fabric out on a flat surface, right sides facing in, cutting edges together, edges facing you. Lay out the pattern pieces: front and back on the fabric.

Cut the robe

When cutting the robe, I decided not to make side seams to save money due to material limitations. The robe has a straight silhouette, so there is no point in making side seams, and this will lead to additional costs for allowances.
Trace the pattern onto the fabric, apply allowances: at armholes and shoulders 1.0 - 1.5 cm, at the neck 0.5 - 0.7 cm. From the top of the shoulder point, mark the length of the robe, add an allowance at the bottom of 1.0 cm and draw a line. Cut out the base of the robe.

Lay out the sleeve pattern on the fabric along the edge, mark the length of the sleeve, apply allowances along the edge and sleeve lines of 1.0 - 1.5 cm. Cut out the sleeves.

Open the capes

Modeling a cape pattern is not at all difficult; take a pattern of the front and back, align along the shoulder seams. Mark the length of the cape: along the shoulder line, along the centers on the front and back. Outline the neckline and form the bottom of the cape in a semicircle. To make a cape pattern, use tracing paper. Cut out a pattern from tracing paper along the shoulder line, neckline and bottom. Lay out the pieces on the fabric so that the center of the front and back coincides with the warp thread. The front of the cape consists of two parts, so align the center of the front with the edge, and the center of the back with the fold of the fabric. Trace the pattern, apply allowances for the shoulders 1.0 - 1.5 cm, for the neck 0.5 - 0.7 cm, for the bottom 1.0 cm.

Sewing a robe

Stitch, overcast and press the shoulder seams onto the back.

Neck treatment

Apply bias tape to the neckline of the back, slightly extending over the neckline of the shelf.

Iron the neckline

Decoration

Sew the decorative braid to the shelf, 8.0 cm from the edge of the side and not reaching the bottom 20.0 cm.

On one side of the side the braid ends just below the depth of the neck so that when overlapped the end of the braid is not visible. Sew a seam into the hem with a closed cut, the edge of the bead to the level of the depth of the neck, only the side where the braid is not completely sewn.

To process the sides, cut strips of fur 10.0 cm wide and length = the length of the sides of the shelf. The fur should be positioned with the pile down. On the side of the shelf, where the braid is shorter, the fur should be even with the length of the braid.

Pin/baste and stitch the fur to the sides. Align the front side of the fur with the back side of the bead. When stitching, do not let the fur pile come out.

Cut out a strip of fur for processing the bottom: width 20.0 cm, length = length of the bottom - (width of the fur trim on the side). Hand stitch the bottom trim to the side trim, joining the edges together.

Bottom processing

Baste and stitch the fur strip to the bottom of the robe.

Hem the opposite side of the robe, making a roll of 0.5 - 0.7 cm due to the fur.

Remove the basting threads, fold the fur trim to the right side and baste it to the product.

Stitch the fur trim along the sides and bottom 0.1 - 0.2 cm from the cut, carefully pressing the fur with scissors so that it does not fall under the stitching.

Remove hand stitches and comb the fur on the seams.

Sleeve processing

In the same way, treat the bottom of the sleeves with fur trim.

Sew the seams on the sleeves

Sew the seams

Press the seams

Connecting sleeves to the product

Tuck the sleeves into the armholes

Stitch from the sleeve side

Overcast the sections and iron them onto the edge.

From fur scraps you can make wonderful patterns on the bottom of the robe. Glue the fur to the product using a glue gun. Use your imagination and creativity to create fancy patterns. Glue on rhinestones and create an even more unique costume design.

Processing the cape

Finish the shoulder sections and deepen the neckline

Cut out a 10.0 cm wide fur trim to the shape of the bottom.

Sew the fur section to the cape using the above method.

Cut out two straight strips of fur (collar and collar) for a stand-up collar, width 11.0 cm, length = neck length + 2.0 cm for allowances.

Stitch the stand-up collar along the top edge and ends of the collar.

Baste and stitch the collar into the neckline, aligning the ends of the collar with the edges of the cape.

Baste the collar to the neckline, bending the edge around the sewing seam and directing its seam allowance upward.

Sew the collar on the front side line by line.

This is such a cute and elegant costume I got! It can be worn by anyone, I sewed it with extra so that anyone could take part in the New Year's performance. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a nice Santa Claus costume. Use available materials, from which you can create a completely original outfit. I know for sure that many of you have fabric supplies, you just have to look. In my opinion, the Santa Claus costume does not have to adhere to standard colors. If you apply imagination and creativity, you can create a unique New Year's costume. How to sew a Santa Claus costume? Turn to the source of inspiration, let it be winter motifs: forest, fluffy snow, patterns on glass, snowflakes, winter sun and sky.

Works of subscribers according to the master class

I quote: “Thank you for the useful site, for the master class and the confidence that if you wish, you can repeat a MIRACLE with your own hands!!! Perhaps it would be useful to comment on the nuances that arose for me personally:

  • fabric consumption (rolled satin) 4.9 m, fur - 1.4 m;
  • the height of Santa Claus is 186 cm, OGK is 110 cm;
  • on the front - smell;
  • the collar is cut most easily when combining the shoulder seams of the front and back;
  • The width of the robe at the bottom is almost 2.8 meters, because 70 cm (front) + 70 cm (front) + 130 cm (back) - in such a robe, neither boots nor trousers can be seen when moving and sitting on a chair;
  • sash length - 4.5 m, width - 12 cm;
  • sewed without lining or lining - the fabric is dense;
  • hat - 4 wedges, lining - double calico;
  • the mittens are based on the pattern of ordinary workers, but I narrowed them down to a palm width of 12 cm, and put them on a cord made of bias tape = 1.8 m, so that they would not get lost.

Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!”
