The fashion marathon continues in London, where from September 14 to 18 a week will pass fashion. Foggy Albion is a well-known forge of young talented designers, but recently the stakes of the local Week have been rising due to large participating brands, as well as significant guests, for example, Queen Elizabeth II at the show of newcomer Richard Quinn last season. Who we will see among the guests this time and what to expect from London Fashion Week - in our material.

Of course, the biggest intrigue of the season is the debut of Riccardo Tisci as creative director of Burberry. We will see Riccardo's first collection in his new position on September 17. In July, Tisci announced a collaboration between the British house and Vivienne Westwood, and although the collection will go on sale only in December, this unexpected move on the part of the Italian makes us understand that with his arrival, Burberry is definitely in for radical changes (see the updated brand logo).

Alexa Chung will also make her debut London Fashion Week - the journalist, blogger and fashionista will show her own brand's collection on the catwalk for the first time on September 15. Chang launched her clothing line of the same name in May last year, managed to present it in Moscow and will now conquer London Fashion Week. Alexa's brand became another proof that brands founded by stars are no less interesting to the public than the works of graduates of Central Saint Martins and major fashion houses. There's room for everyone.

Victoria Beckham decided to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her brand by returning to her native land. Despite the fact that the actual office is based in London, Victoria Beckham shows have always taken place at New York Fashion Week. We will be able to assess whether the change of location has affected Victoria’s imagination on September 16th. We assume that the show will be nostalgic, and perhaps we will see the full line-up of the Spice Girls in the front row.

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood, who had previously limited himself to small presentations in Paris, also decided to stage a full Nicholas Kirkwood show as part of the main London Week schedule. “I live and work in London and find inspiration here, so it was a logical step. I’m not going to do a show in a traditional format, everything will be much more complex and interesting,” Kirkwood shared.

London is a special city on the fashion map of the planet. The British capital has given the world a great variety of talented designers - from Charles Worth, the founder of the modern fashion system and author fashion shows, to Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Paul Smith... In the list of famous English fashion designers, women occupy a special place - Mary Quant, who is still credited with the author of the miniskirt, the author of punk fashion Vivienne Westwood and the heir to the McQueen business Sarah Burton.

As interesting as British designers are, London Fashion Week is just as interesting, where the most daring fashion experiments have long been an integral part of it. If only for this reason, studying trends from British catwalks is especially interesting: it is there that the real fashion avant-garde is cleverly intertwined with simple, previously tested and commercially successful ideas. The 10 main trends of autumn and winter 2018 turned out exactly like this!

Simone Rocha, Richard Quinn, Roland Mouret

We have already seen several versions of a black leather raincoat before - at Fashion Week in New York, where this outerwear began its triumphant march. In London, designers exaggerate the ideas of their “Western colleagues”, adding even wider shoulders or finishing it with multiple zippers: rebellious London, as you remember, is also the birthplace of the gloomy grunge of the 90s.

Colored total look

Eudon Choi, Molly Goddard, Emilia Wickstead, Preen, Shrimps, Roksanda, Natasha Zinko

Despite the apparent simplicity of this idea, creating a fresh look in one color or a gradation of related shades is not so simple. On the one hand, this can make the designer’s work more interesting: when the viewer is no longer distracted by contrasting color combinations, bright prints or abundant decor, the design features of the clothing - cut, silhouette, texture - come to the fore. On the other hand, the fashion designer is being pursued high probability a mistake: one miscalculation in the design - and a colored total look will highlight it in the best possible way.

To repeat a bright total look in life, we advise you to try on all the items of the look together when purchasing. If you go wrong with just one shade (even if it's a bag or shoes), there's a big risk that your outfit will go from trendy to downright sloppy.

Burberry

Ashish

We have already seen black raincoats and colored monochrome looks more than once. The real discovery of London Fashion Week is clothes literally decorated with a rainbow. Christopher Bailey did this most clearly in his latest collection for Burberry, dedicating it to LGBT youth (and although the brand works on a see now buy now system, its share in the entire London Fashion Week is so huge that we simply cannot ignore it) . Bailey and Ashish Gupta echo, devoting the collection not so much to representatives of the LGBT community, but to the idea of love in principle.

Wide stripe

Marques" Almeida, Mother of Pearl, Emilia Wickstead, JW Anderson

If rainbow stripes for some reason (hopefully not homophobic) do not inspire you, there are familiar stripes to replace them, which in the coming season, the wider the better. Horizontal, vertical or diagonal - it doesn't really matter. The pinnacle of skill is to combine them in one outfit.

Gareth Pugh, Ports 1961, Fyodor Golan, Halpern

The most “tasteless” era in the fashion chronicle has been exciting the hearts and minds of designers for the fourth season in a row, and it seems that it has no intention of losing ground. In New York, there was a real craze for leopard print, which survived the journey across the entire color palette; in London it is added with a zebra print and, of course, other signs of the era - crazy eclecticism, triumph sporty style and costumes " business woman».

Mother of Pearl, Temperley London, Richard Quinn, Erdem

The classic and most romantic print will appear in a refined form next season, practically devoid of any extreme connotations. The image from the Richard Quinn show, which became famous after Queen Elizabeth II herself visited it, does not count.

Stylized merchandise

House of Holland, Nicopanda, Ashish

Stylized merchandise is exactly what we had in mind when talking about the innovative and progressive spirit of the British capital. Perhaps it is he who should be awarded the title of the most interesting trend, which simply didn’t happen at any other Fashion Week. Nicola Formichetti's brand Nicopanda has a reworked logo of the Nirvana group, well known to all fans of Kurt Cobain and just the generation of the 90s. The Ashish brand has a whole set of modified logos of famous payment systems: in the photo - American Express, which has turned into American Excess (which in the context of the current political situation looks very sharp). We found the safest way - styling it as sports merch - from House of Holland.

we are from the future

Marques" Almeida, Halpern, Ports 1961, Erdem

Silver metallic in the next season is a tribute to the legacy of the 60s with their desire to conquer the Universe. For inspiration - the fashion archives of Paco Rabanne, Andre Courrèges and Pierre Cardin, as well as, of course, the film “Barbarella” with the seductive Jane Fonda in the title role.

Triumph of the tartan

Emilia Wickstead, Marta Jakubowski, Simone Rocha, Isa Arfen

Last fall we hunted for jackets and entire suits decorated in gray Prince of Wales plaid. In the future, we will switch our attention to the classic red and black tartan, the symbol of Scotland, and it will not be limited to costumes alone. The simplest option is trousers, like Marta Jakubowski, the most spectacular is dramatic long dress, as in the collection of the famous Irishwoman Simone Roshi.

Loud slogans

Marques" Almeida, Nicopanda, Marques" Almeida, Christopher Kane

At the shows of this year's spring-summer collections, peace and pastel-dessert shades reigned. In autumn and winter we will again return to slogans, the volume of which ranges from harmless hedonistic to the now familiar straightforward feminist.

Let's move on to the main thing - to the things without which we will not be able to fully meet fashion season spring-summer 2018. Fortunately, Fashion Week is in full swing, so there will be no shortage of bright outfits. Next up is London street fashion. We warn you: it is addictive (just like our site).

"Black and white cinema"

The base will remain the base, no matter how you look at it. We spotted on the streets of London how girls “revive” dresses in black and white so as not to go crazy from monotony.

Oversized knitted sweater + midi skirt

London street fashion for the spring-summer 2018 season is based on a feeling of comfort always and everywhere. If the new day is greeted with rain and a cold wind, which a priori is not conducive to wearing skirts, deceive it with the help of a voluminous sweater and the ubiquitous sneakers (however, rough boots and suede ankle boots have also not yet been canceled).

Massive earrings

Street style goddesses have been encouraged to wear massive earrings for several seasons now. Put these on and your loved one will whisper tenderness in your ear all evening.

Gray check suit

Tired of the morning leapfrog in front of the mirror? Stock up on a plaid suit gray so as not to worry about what to combine with what. Choose a deliberately masculine silhouette if you want to look like Thumbelina in it.

High Waist Wide Leg Pants

In the spring of 2018, trousers are turning into a universal item that you want to wear to the office, on a date, and to a social gathering. Pair them with a wool sweater and a crossbody. It seems like nothing extraordinary, but look in the mirror!

Oversized denim jacket

All you need to do is throw the denim over your shoulders and leave it unbuttoned. Otherwise, why did it take you so long to choose this chiffon dress?

Belt bag

I came, I saw, I conquered and ran to experiment. We reviewed the outfits of London fashionistas and are ready to make a verdict: in order for the bag to play not a secondary role in the image, but a full-fledged solo one, it is worth fixing it on the belt. The accessory goes perfectly with wide trousers and coats with floral prints. Our favorite is the velvet belt bag from Gucci.

Sporty chic

Velvet boots, a pink down jacket, trousers with stripes and a voluminous sweater are not just sporty chic, but a cleverly planned campaign to win the hearts of street style photographers.

An elongated jacket is a bright element of street style

Solo or in tandem with trousers - an elongated jacket looks advantageous in any scenario. We fell in love with the combination of a pink dress and a nude jacket.

Bordeaux color

Street style - images demonstrated at London Fashion Week often referred to the color Marsala. We couldn't ignore this trend and are already scouring the city in search of new items of this shade. So what? We will be the first swallows in the spring.

Metallic

A girl who walks through the city in a silver dress is full of strength, inspiration and creative energy. Keep it up!

Shoes that will tell you everything for you

Leather over the knee boots with the inscription for walking - just in case you don't wear house slippers to a fashion show.

Rainbow stripe

A classic of the spring season (we figured that it would not be leaving the pages of our site any time soon).

Finished London Fashion Week FW 2018-2019, giving us a boost of fashionable mood for the coming autumn-winter season. It’s still too early to buy new clothes, so we invite you to catch inspiration in street style chronicles. The most interesting and cool outfits straight from the streets of London are in today's selection.

London style of clothing: do not hold back your flight of fancy

We throw a party for no reason and imagine what we will wear in a year. London street style is an endless labyrinth. But you know - we won’t leave you without fashion tips. Wind it up (and down).

  • At London Fashion Week autumn-winter 2018-2019, total looks were absolutely everywhere: both on the catwalk and on the streets. To replicate this new-old trend in style, wear monochrome pieces in any order. The most popular shades are red, lavender, yellow and nude.
  • The peplum (yes, it still exists) emphasizes the waist, cleverly placing accents in the image. So suddenly there’s a straight-cut dress lying around in your closet, and you can’t get rid of the thought that (oh, horror!) it doesn’t suit you, that’s when the peplum comes to the fore.
  • Sports chic style images - love and adoration. No comments here.
  • Leopard print is the absolute trend of 2018. We give free rein to our bestial nature and get ready to conquer the concrete jungle.
  • How far are we willing to go in investing in our personal style? London fashionistas, for example, have no remorse in wearing a mesh bag, which is too similar to the one they take with them to the market.
  • If you choose sunglasses, remember: the narrower the lenses, the better. Cat eye glasses have been trending for several seasons in a row. Let's be honest: such an accessory will add cool to even the most boring look. Street style – the goddesses of London don’t go out without them.
  • Checkered coats and jackets will never lose ground, as guests of London Fashion Week have once again proven. Let’s add on our own: bright accessories in your look can put you on the same level as the best trendsetters in the world.
