Stylist, style coach

The new season's trends cultivate personality. A person with his opinion, nationality, political views and rhythm of life has become a key source of inspiration for designers. The new season saw a huge number of models of different ethnic origins, ages and body types take to the catwalk, and the key theme at all four fashion weeks was multiculturalism and the status of women in the world.

The Dolce & Gabbana duo invited people of different genders, ages, skin colors and builds to demonstrate a collection, thereby declaring that their show is not so much about clothes, but about a person and his individuality. Miuccia Prada also relied on cultural and ethnic diversity in her collection. Many collections had a strong political message: feminist slogans, critical statements towards Donald Trump, American motifs.

Today we will talk about the main trends of the coming autumn and winter, highlighting the main moods and themes.

Popular

Office Style

A strict business suit rules the show in the new season. The key to success is the perfect fit. Many brands have relied on jackets with exaggerated shoulder lines, and an emphasis on the waist is also welcome. Designers suggest wearing an office jacket not only with trousers, but also with a skirt.

Lady in red

Red is one of the main colors of the coming season. The Givenchy brand dedicated an entire collection to it (you can see the lookbook by following the link), but in general, Tod’s, Fendi, Armani and many others have spectacular scarlet total looks. Not many people will dare to dress in red from head to toe, as the designers suggest, but you definitely need to add a few items of your own shade to your wardrobe.

Multicellular

The most in fashion different types cages: from classic, 70s-style, and Vichy to modern optical interpretations. This graphic design promises to stay on trend for a long time, so you can safely invest in a plaid coat.

Deconstructivism

Asymmetrical blouses with bias fastenings, jackets with random slits, dresses tailored to fit men's jacket, - in things that seem absurd at first glance there is both harmony and meaning. Deconstructivism is a trend for those who are ready to go beyond the boundaries and look at fashion not only from the point of view of the usual aesthetics.

Metallic

Noble shine is one of the main trends in evening fashion. During the day, lamé items can be combined with warm knitwear and wool. This trend also extends to accessories.

Lounge area

Laconic dresses in linen style over the past couple of seasons have firmly established themselves in wardrobes, so for autumn designers have created unusual options: from several types of lace, multi-layered, with embroidery, pleated inserts and other decor. Delicate dresses look good in combination with masculine jackets and coats.

Denim

The new season invites you to wear denim from head to toe (thanks to the fashion house Dior and Maria Grazia Chiuri). Denim overalls, suits, shirts, trousers and dresses were seen on the catwalks. Favorites are dark shades. It is still fashionable to combine denim items of different tones in an image.

1920s

Inspired by jazz dresses, designers created graceful dresses with long fringes. A luxurious solution for the evening!

Winter Garden

fashionable dresses and coats are decorated with more complex bouquets than usual. The background for flowers is often rich autumn colors: a shade of yellow foliage, deep blue, marbled red.

Patchwork

Ethnic and eclecticism are woven together in colorful patchwork outfits. The colorful designs are complemented by embroidery, fringe and fur.

Bright fur

Smooth and fleecy textures, neon colors and even prints - when working with fur, the designers showed maximum courage. This fur coat is not the best practical option for every day, but it definitely has the power to add some mood to gray winter everyday life.

The Gaudeamus collection conveys the cold beauty of the designer’s native Siberia: chaos and gloomy gothic, warm and cold shades, contrasts of light pink, and the models’ faces seemed to be covered with snow - a fabulous atmosphere reigned during the show. The culmination of MBFW Russia was the exclusive collection show SENSE 9.0 by designer Igor Chapurin and his fashion houseCHAPURIN season autumn-winter 2016/2017. The collection is based on the feelings and emotions evoked by the era of the 1990s: grunge and punk styles coexisted during this period with minimalism and the cult of the human body. If you prefer to dress modernly and always keep up with the times, then welcome to our fashion-light. We will discuss fashion trends season autumn/winter 2017-2018 ! Exactly what is needed? Then go ahead, the designers have prepared many pleasant surprises...

Short video version:

Trend 1— Silver

Alien, cosmic, shining silver. Clothes made from materials in this color refer to the uniforms of mysterious heroes from films about the future. However, this season, designers sought to make cold metallic looks as feminine as possible. The creators of such influential brands as Miu Miu, Paco Rabanne, D&G and, oddly enough, Balenciaga.

An asymmetrical dress with thin straps, a pencil skirt, a seductive mini dress with a low waist and no longer with puffy sleeves. These are just some examples of outfits for space women today.

Silver clothes are unexpectedly inspiring combined with flashy red accessories. Combinations with white and black look more restrained, but no less attractive and in the spirit of the times. Don’t skimp on silver and on shoes, bags, jewelry, and within the same look. The metal is noble!

Trend 2— Denim from head to toe

The color of power, revolution, courage, celebration, blood. You can interpret the symbolism of red in any way you like. The main thing is not to forget that this color is the latest cry of fashion ( not even a peep), especially if you look at the lookbook Givenchy, where everything burns with a red flame.

The trend is not just red wardrobe items, but whole looks, entirely consisting of clothes of the most saturated shades. To become a real lady in red, as in the famous song, prepare " scarlet» shoes, coat, dress, handbag and even earrings.

Trend 4— Polka dots

The pea pattern carries inexhaustible cheerfulness. Maybe that’s why the creative directors of most iconic brands love to use this print so much. After all, at any time there is always a lack of lightness and carefreeness.

The trend includes both very large peas and small ones that even slightly dazzle the eye. The middle one is also in fashion. Primary colors: black and white. Cheerful polka dots cover everything without embarrassment: elegant sheath dresses, asymmetrical raincoats, futuristic overalls, cropped trousers.

Trend 5- Feathers

The bird on its tail brought that evening and Cocktail Dresses, fur coats and feathered skirts should gracefully fly into women's wardrobes this season. Designers want women to relax, become airy, carefree, windy, luxurious like birds of paradise, mysterious like black swans.

Black, smoky, deep-sea, pearl feathers circled on the catwalks different lengths. So, tick this aspect off your list of formal wear ideas for this fall/winter season 2017.

Trend 6— Bright fur

Following the feathers of birds, the bright fur of fantastic animals bursts into the fashionable jungle. The trend is dirty pink, sunny yellow, orange-orange, azure voluminous fur coats. At many shows, models assembled from different furs and with abstract patterns were seen. The main idea, in our rough translation, is that your fur coat for the fall-winter 2017 season should stand out against the backdrop of dirty roadside snow, concrete boxes and gloomy autumn skies.

Trend 7— Down jacket-blanket

This down jacket is a guest from past seasons. But it began to take on more complex, bizarre forms, combining other fashion ideologemes: layering, asymmetry and volume.

The blanket has become more like a tent painted with iconic checkered, floral or polka dot patterns, in which you can hide from bad weather and the typicality of those around you. This trend is definitely worth taking note of.

Trend 8- Pantsuit

Another old friend or example of an ongoing trend is the pantsuit. This season's collections feature more and more models that look like your man's suit. Loose trousers, voluminous jackets, wide shoulders in the spirit of suits Melanie Griffith And Sigourney Weaver in film " Businesswoman ". The color scheme on the catwalks was mostly restrained.

Such suits should be complemented with pointed heeled shoes, an original small handbag or an expensive business briefcase.

Trend 9— Velvet

Corduroy became one of the most popular materials among designers this time. Well, we are all tired of velvet, so this is a very good alternative. The top ones will be corduroy trousers, jackets and suits in warm brown, wine, and beige shades.

Trend 10— Sheepskin coat

Stop using parkas and down jackets. " It's time for sheepskin coats“,” the cult and ( not really) brands. The trend is light shades of brown.

If you are worried about the versatility of a sheepskin coat, then cast aside bad thoughts. Sheepskin coats are equally good for country looks with jeans and sweaters, as well as for corduroy suits, silk shirts and bell-bottoms, and weightless chiffon dresses. Expand your boundaries!

Trend 11— Black and blue ensemble

Not long ago, designers' collections were marked with a red-and-black trail. This season the role of " favorite"belongs to shades of blue: from the Pacific depths to indigo. No faded variations. The main rule is not to bring extraneous colors into the image. Only black and blue, which one is the main one does not matter. It also makes sense to play with textures, fabrics and details that will add real emotions to colors, like Saint Laurent Giorgio Armani Versace.

Trend 12— Cowboy style

And again in trend " hello from the wild west«. Cowboy style knocked on our doors back in 2013, and asks to visit again. The main elements that will allow you to be on trend this season include: a hat like on the models from the show Ashley Williams, blouses and skirts with laces, print " cow hide", dresses with embroidery and wings on the shoulders like Erdem. But the abundance of leather and cowboy boots are no longer as relevant as they were 5 years ago.

Trend 13— Patchwork

Of course, blankets and grandma's rugs are not in fashion. And the technique of patchwork textile mosaic itself, which allows you to create not only household items, but also clothes that are unique in every cell. Designers offer dresses, trouser suits, shirts, pajama pants and even shoes made from colorful fragments that are different from one another.

Clothes made with patchwork technique can look very relaxed and at ease; it’s perfect for leisurely strolling around some seaside city under the sea. scorching sun. Or it may become an atypical solution for an evening out; an example for this is a three-piece suit from Dolce & Gabbana in the photo below.

Trend 14— Space prints

The more humanity learns about space, the more attractive it becomes. Recently, more and more often films about secret planets, spaceships, and extraterrestrial travelers are being released. In the wake of this interest, designers brought their own vision and sense of the space theme into the collections, showering dresses with stardust and depicting little men in strange spacesuits on them. This trend is as limitless as the Universe, wear shiny socks, jeans jackets star embroidered, rocket t-shirts.

Trend 15- Leopard print

This season, the wild cat print is not aggressive and overtly sexy, but rather regally luxurious. It covers airy silk and chiffon dresses and trouser suits. The looks are certainly complemented by feminine high-heeled shoes, noticeable jewelry on the head, neck, and waist. Queens of animals are trending.

Trend 16— Rose on clothes

Among all the floral prints, the favorite of the season is rose. And not lush and large, but with miniature buds of juicy scarlet or soft pink shades. Flowers can carpet pantsuits, down jackets or cocktail dresses, or they can only peek unobtrusively from behind a pocket or sleeve. In any case, small roses make even a heavy outerwear girlishly cute.

Trend 17- Cell

It is difficult to imagine the autumn-winter season without a checkered coat, which may be why designers are again presenting variations on the check theme in their collections. This time the dominant shades are brown and green, and the sizes are medium to large.

Although in some collections there were also slightly different multi-cellular items - dark jackets, coats in small monochrome checks. These are rather exceptions to the general unofficial rules, but on the other hand, why can’t a cell be like that?

This season's traditional wool sweater is covered in a variety of patterns: Icelandic zigzags, snowflakes, fantastic creatures ( perhaps in honor of the release of the sequel to the hit movie of the same name), slashes. And to " grandma's thing"looked modern, don't pair it with boring classic jeans. Look at the skirts from Loewe, COACH 1941, Stella Jean- this is a fresh wind for good old cozy sweaters.

Trend 22- Turquoise

If you believe the symbolism of the color, then turquoise means the desire for something new, for perfection. So why not include this in the new year 2018? fashionable color to your wardrobe. It could be a fur coat, coat, raincoat, trouser suit, sweater, dress or accessory - handbag, belt, gloves, scarf. Combine with shades of brown, black, red, leopard print.

The coming autumn-winter season is a season of riot of colors and patterns on clothes. And if we found you engaged in the exciting task of updating your wardrobe, our review of the most popular prints among fashion designers in the fall-winter 2016/2017 collections will help you.

We can breathe easy: in the autumn-winter season we will not look like gray mice. Bright colors and crazy prints appeared at almost every show, which means one thing - a trend! Are you in love with animal prints, or does your mathematical mind require clean lines? Or maybe you are a romantic person, and you want something floral and fruity on your clothes? The coming season will satisfy the most whimsical desires and offer even more.

We carefully reviewed all the shows of the fall-winter 2016/17 collections and identified 14 of the most interesting prints that will be definite trends with the onset of cold weather.

Strip

Stripes have always been in favor. Next season it will appear not only on clothing items, but also on bags, shoes and other accessories. At the autumn-winter shows, the striped print is presented in all sorts of variations: vertical, horizontal, diagonal, broken, wide and thin stripes become the undisputed trend of the season.

Etro

Alexander Wang

Although, let’s make a reservation: perhaps this time the designers paid more attention to the vertical stripe. Alexis Mabille rocks a print with black stripes on a blue background and red stripes on an orange background. Acne Studios came up with an original print in the glam rock style: here stripes flaunt on a gold background. And at Balmani, the stripe has become the dominant element in all clothes.

Max Mara

Balmain

At Max Mara, a stripe - horizontal and wide - appears on woolen products. Etro presented long scarves with a thin horizontal stripe. And if you still doubt that stripes have taken over the fashion shows, take a look at the nautical pieces from Tommy Hilfiger's cruise collection and the psychedelic striped print from Giambattista Valli.

Scottish checkered and checkered

Rest assured: next season there will be a lot of tartan and checkered patterns, and it will be presented in all sorts of shades: from bright to pastel. Perhaps in no other season have checkered and checkered patterns appeared with such frequency as in this one. This print is perfect for office style and looks very casual in casual ensembles.

Barbara Bui

Burberry

At Barbara Bui, bright red check dominates the pantsuits, tailored in a free style. Burberry showcases a wide checkered coat that shimmers in all possible shades. Of course, the cage also reigns at the Chanel show. Karl Lagerfeld uses fashionable prints for tweed suits and accessories (for bowler hats and boots).

Alexander Wang

Chanel

At Ralph Lauren, the check is played out in a strict style, and Victoria Beckhem demonstrates double-breasted coats and torn strapless dresses. Of course, also in a cage.

Prince of Wales cage

Forget that this is a men's print. Many designers have not been paying attention to this for a long time and are offering more and more interesting options with this pattern for ladies.

It’s not for nothing that everyone gave and still gives preference to the “Prince of Wales” cage royalty and famous politicians: elegant and strict, this print is becoming one of the absolute favorites of the upcoming season.

Balenciaga

Carolina Herrera

Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia uses Prince of Wales check on unusual cocoon dresses, although in the collection for Vetements the designer toned down his ardor a little: here the taupe print dominates on trousers and blazers of a simple straight cut.

Isabel Marant and Prada believe that this print is intended for travel clothing: the check plays well with over-sized coats and mini dresses, combined with cozy outerwear, straps and gloves.

Sonia Rykiel

Prada

The Sonia Rykiel show featured royal plaid in chocolate and burgundy, used on baggy trousers and fur-collared blazers. One of the most elegant uses of plaid was presented by Carolina Herrera in a gray midi dress.

Flirty polka dots

If you are an expert in the field of female attractiveness and seductive images, then you probably know that polka dots can decorate any look. Big or small, common or rare, this coming season designers are refreshing the traditional feminine print and making us love it even more.

Elie Saab

Edun

The Ives Saint Laurant collection is inspired by the romantic 80s: sequins, voluminous skirts and, of course, everyone’s favorite polka dots. Elie Saab uses rare small polka dots on dark blue evening dress, and Marc Jacobs uses black and white polka dots in different sizes.

MSGM

Saint Laurent

At Edun, polka dots took on the shape of buttons, while MSGM and House of Holland went all out with polka dots in all shapes and sizes. Designers use it in over-sized coats and long dresses.

Flower heaven

Floral and floral motifs have perhaps become the main thing this season. Thus, at Dolce&Gabbana, the floral print takes on a fabulous style. Blumarine and MSGM have flowers painted in the brightest colors, while Etro and Alberta Ferretti preferred more realistic pastel colors.

Dolce & Gabbana

Blumarine

Alberta Ferretti

Temperley London

At Monique Lhuillier and Alexander McQueen, flowers bloom here and there, while at Miu Miu, tiny buds cover the entire surface of the fabric. The metallic flowers of Suno and Etro are also certainly eye-catching. And Balenciaga and Anna Sui are so keen on floral motifs that they offer fashionable prints even on tights and boots.

Animal print

Animal print is something that will demonstrate your love for a luxurious lifestyle and pleasure without further ado. This season, tiger, zebra, leopard and python prints roam from show to show. Well, a very good solution for cold weather.

Dries Van Noten

Givenchy

“Leopard” and “Cheetah” dominate the collections of Dries Van Noten, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Topshop Unique, Isabel Marant, Acne Studios. At Dries Van Noten, baggy pants are paired with blazers and bomber jackets. At Dolce & Gabbana, midi dresses acquired bright prints, and at Givenchy, outerwear with a fur collar was painted leopard print.

Topshop Unique

Roberto Cavalli

Roberto Cavalli preferred the tiger print, and Christian Siriano preferred the zebra print (the print appears in an unusual skirt + bomber set). But Burberry declared its love for the rich colors of reptiles: the print appears on trench coats in green and blue versions.

Stars, hearts and butterflies

This is perhaps the cutest print of the upcoming season: it awakens our warmest feelings and creates a truly playful and romantic mood. Thus, Alexander McQueen demonstrated luxurious maxi dresses, as well as leather and wool black coats, completely decorated with fluttering butterflies.

Alexander McQueen

Anna Sui

Beautiful winged creatures also flew to the Zuhair Murad show, taking a liking to silk and suede mini- and maxi-skirts and leggings. On Mary Katrantzou's seductive tulle dresses we see hearts and stars, which, by the way, also take the shape of giant butterflies.

Zuhair Murad

Mary Katrantzou

However, hearts and stars don't always have to be cute. Vetements are sure of this, presenting at their show boots with an unusual print in the form of hearts surrounded by knives, pistols, roses with thorns and the inscriptions “Love” and “Hate”.

Pop art prints

The most unusual is yet to come: this season, designers surprise us with extravagantly cut clothes with the craziest prints. At Dolce & Gabbana, prints seem to have come from the pages of old European fairy tales: candles, chandeliers, mice, mirrors, clocks, cups. Alexander Wang, judging by the revealing prints with silhouettes of naked girls, invites us to a strip club, and Au Jour Le Jour invites us to a cocktail party.

Dolce & Gabbana

Just Cavalli

Alexander McQueen teases fans with prints of sensual red lips and lipsticks, while Moschino and Just Cavalli also have these lips neatly holding a cigarette, evoking associations with the legendary film “Madelena” with Monica Bellucci. Marine-style prints often appear in cruise collections: anchors, steering wheels, lighthouses, and so on.

Dolce & Gabbana

Moschino

Retro drawings are also popular: on midi dresses Tommy Hilfiger and Veronique Leroy's jumpsuits are used by old cars. But the prize for the most creative approach to the choice of prints goes to Ashley Williams, whose products are literally littered with - don't be surprised - stun guns.

Geometry

Geometry is probably the best print if you want to add a futuristic touch to your look. This season, designers are clearly looking to the distant future and confidently experimenting with triangular, square, rectangular, round and oval prints and zigzags.

Emilio Pucci

Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani was a fan of clear lines and shapes: at the “New Pop” show, the designer presented elegant, classic, seemingly even restrained models with crazy and bright geometric patterns. Salvatore Ferragamo

I especially want to highlight the seductive Naeem Khan dresses, which combine many different geometric prints, and the graceful triangles and ovals on Valentino products. At Salvatore Ferragamo, wide zigzags dominate. Stella Jean and Emilio Pucci also declared their love for geometric motifs.

Psychedelia and optical illusions

Concentric circles, spirals, metaphysical and surreal images, pulsating designs and patterns made in the most vibrant colors can drive anyone crazy, sending them into a psychedelic knockout. Anna Sui mixes fiery prints, hallucinogenic motifs and abstract flowers, while Custo Barcelona hypnotizes us with pulsating round patterns, applied to some skirts and dresses.

Issey Miyake

Anna Sui

Versace showcases psychedelic designs in light blue color scheme. Marni's print is similar to iridescent fish skin, although the brand doesn't stop there: there are chaotically located lines, floral motifs, as well as incomprehensible designs, shaped like graphic formulas of chemical compounds.

Versace

Marni

Looking at the various contrasting prints on Chanel tweed models, you gradually begin to go crazy after just one minute. Well, psychedelic prints from Givenchy take you somewhere far from reality.

Art gallery: portraits and landscapes

This fall season, art meets fashion and together they create something truly inspiring. Of course, portraits and landscapes are far from the brightest print of this season, but we are sure that very soon it will become an object of universal unconditional love. In the meantime, the trend is set by Prada, which demonstrated magnificent skirts and outerwear, decorated with still lifes by Christopher Schoeman, as well as images of deserts and sensual kisses under the moon.

Opening Ceremony

Prada

Select Opening Ceremony tops and sweatshirts feature futuristic Syd Mead paintings. Topshop Unique presented velvet dresses, “painted” with landscapes from Winter’s works. At Paris Fashion Week, Undercover unveiled surreal portraits by French artist Mathieu Bourel, printed on some of the fall collection's clothing.

Undercover

Topshop Unique

And House of Holland, sung in new collection era of the 20s and 70s, he chose to depict portraits of legendary women of that time on clothes: Cher, Liza Minnelli and Deborah Harry.
