Submitted new collection Dior 2019 deserves the close attention of fashionistas all over the planet. This parade of models, like no other show, illustrates the possibilities of stylishly creating everyday looks based on simple things, partly sewn in retro style.

The Dior clothing collection includes different styles of skirts and trousers, jackets and elements outerwear. It’s worth starting with the fact that the central thing was the headdress. This is a felt boater hat in a country style. The second element that connects all the elements of the Dior 2019 women's collection are military-style boots with a round toe, square heel and rough lacing, made in combination with shiny metal studs.

Using these connecting links, the fashion designer suggests looking at prints, colors and models that are familiar to everyone from a slightly different angle, or “sauce”. In the new collection of the fashion house Christian Dior, fashion designer Maria Grazia Chiuri offered a new interpretation of country style, rediscovering it to the world. Showing all its convenience and comfort through soft fabrics and warm shades that combine well with each other. Chic combinations of black and white give a hint of the option of using some models and bows formed on the basis for a business look.

The Christian Dior 2019 women's collection does not just take an excursion into the world of the romantic and exciting Wild West. First of all, it creates the impression of a close and native style of simple and sophisticated things that are necessary in the wardrobe of every modern woman.

Indeed, it’s hard to resist trying to touch the incredibly stylish and warm camel-colored cashmere jacket with flared wide arms and a loose fit. Looking at jackets of this type, you understand that you will feel warm and cozy in them in any bad weather.

And for cold days there is a whole selection of sweaters and pullovers. There are two trends here. The first one is crocheted with mesh fabric. Such models are decorated with a horizontal colored stripe. And simple pullovers knitted in stockinette stitch are proposed to be decorated with unusual patterns and prints.

Incredible dresses from the Dior 2019 cruise collection

Dior's cruise collection surprised many fans of the designers of this fashion house. Incredible dresses from the Dior collection can be divided into several categories. The first is evening dresses, designed in a surprisingly strict textured line. These are simple styles with a cut-off waistline, belted with thin leather straps. The sophistication in them is the finest lace fabrics that drape perfectly and perfectly demonstrate all the charms of the female figure.

The second category is summer models. Here the Dior dresses are more revealing. Most of them are made of transparent veil, on which unusual prints are sewn. They imitate rock paintings and drawings of the indigenous people of North America. The Indian theme, in principle, dominates the new collection of Dior women's clothing.

For the summer, unusual models of sundresses with bras and thin straps sewn into them are offered. A bright red color with floor length will be very popular. See the various Dior 2019 dresses in the photo, where you can get ideas for your everyday look:

Prints, colors and designs

For the most part, the prints from the new collection repeat those used previously. These are the famous cave paintings from the Lascaux cave. It was discovered by archaeologists in 1940. And throughout the next decade, the minds of progressive humanity were busy unraveling the drawings found there.

The colors are inspired by nature and echo the colors of the Grand Canyon. And various feathers, fringe, a cacophony of colors and their mixtures are a tribute to the memory of the Indians and the Taro peoples.

So, here is Maria Grazia Chiuri's first collection as creative designer at Christian Dior. Undoubtedly, this is a highly anticipated collection - everyone was wondering how new designer will see one of the oldest clothing brands in its creative interpretation and how this vision will be embodied in the new debut collection. In addition, it should be noted that the position of creative director of Christian Dior was occupied by a woman for the first time in 70 years of its history. And what can we say - it’s really new, fresh, simple, universal and practical at the same time.

Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2016 Collection

The Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2017 collection is based on a fencing jacket, which was then modified in many ways interesting options, which goes so neatly and appropriately with both trousers and fluffy tulle skirts. By the way, cropped trousers are also a kind of professional clothing for fencing.

As for the surroundings and setting in which the show took place, everything was much simpler and ascetic compared to the flower halls of Raf Simons and his first collection at Christian Dior.

Dresses

Perhaps someone will disagree, but some dress models are quite reminiscent of Valentino dresses, with characteristic images of the moon and sun, stars, and hearts. But that's probably where the similarities end. Chiuri seems to rejuvenate the brand, making it more modern and lowering the age threshold for fans of the brand. She has Christian Dior inscriptions on elastic straps, football shirts, and bags. Even on evening dresses inscriptions can be seen from under the tulle mesh - and this is truly a new and very bold step.

The legendary jacket invented by Christian Dior has also undergone changes. Chiuri suggests wearing it unbuttoned with T-shirts. This is a bold move, but very successful in terms of current street style trends.

Dior held a show of its new spring-summer 2017 collection in London. It left me with the feeling of traveling through different countries, there was so much different images. It is in connection with this that the show was given the name “express”.

The presented New Look collection from Dior was created with imagination and turned out to be completely unexpected. The creators of clothing combined incompatible things in their works: puffed sleeves, ribbons, drapery, interesting colors and completely different textures. All this diversity is united by only one word - New look from Dior. Latest collection from Fendi you can see.

Dior - chic and sophistication

To fully feel the atmosphere of the show, you need to imagine pastel colors: blue, peach, beige, a soft shade of mustard. Almost everything is diluted with floral prints and bright red accents. This brand is characterized mainly by tight-fitting and semi-tight silhouettes and clearly defined proportions.

However, in the presented collection from Dior, loose-fitting shirt dresses with wide sleeves, short flared trousers and comfortable shoes(read here -) designed for everyday wear. The sole of the shoe shines gold.

Each item is characterized by a feature - one dress is gathered in waves from top to bottom using a ribbon, another dress is decorated with a belt with leather cord, skirts are complemented by basques.

The new Dior collection features a large number of distorted silhouettes, multi-layering, voluminous trim, and gathered details. In the presented images, instead of the typical Christian Dior style, the basis is made up of contrasting prints with graphic and animalistic patterns, bright accessories, large belts, and sports bags. Spectacular makeup was created for the models - the main emphasis was on the eyes using dark bronze shadows.

After the show of the new collection, it is definitely difficult to judge in which direction Dior will develop.

Main trends – old trends are coming back

The spring-summer 2017 shows can be marked by the return of old trends.

The main trends of the presented collection were:

  • cropped flared trousers. Of course, they are different from the flares that were in fashion in the 70s. The modern flared flare in the Dior collection is presented in a minimalist design, monochrome color scheme, it doesn't have the brightness, noticeable decoration and over-extension of before. Here the flare comes from the knee. And shades of ivory and black are emphasized by satin and patent leather. There is a combination with the boho style () - trousers made of fabric like “matting” with fringe decor were presented. Flared trousers beautifully highlight the ankle.
  • puff sleeves. Since the 2000s, puffs have already tried to return to the catwalk, although in the 80s of the last century they were the leaders of any clothing collection. Fashion designers used Dior in the new show different variants this sleeve. There were lanterns, exaggerated shapes, and even drapery in the form of cascading waves. Puff sleeves experienced a new birth in the off-season show.
  • floral motifs. Both large and small floral motifs were used. Dresses, blouses, skirts with floral arrangements had strict lines, emphasized by light and translucent, as if flying chiffon, giving some frivolity. Fashion designers balanced the lightness of chiffon with bags of strict shapes and black jackets.
  • flowing satin became the most significant trend of the fashion show. These fabrics were in the shadows for a long time, but in 2017 they returned to the fashion Olympus. Satin turned into feminine pieces with a soft shine and a pronounced texture. The color scheme of dresses and skirts emphasizes the nobility of satin - these are mustard, blue, peach, and mustard listed above. Particularly noteworthy is the robe dress made of black satin with puffed sleeves, presented in combination with rough military-style shoes (more details) with animal print.

Critics expected more

It should be noted that the French fashion house Christian Dior is still working without a creative director. This probably explains the change in style of recent shows. There are opinions that the work of the internal team led by Serge Ruffier and Lucie Meyer has completely changed the past direction of the fashion house, and not for the better. Many were sure that the cruise show would end with the introduction of a new creative director, but this did not happen.

He gained fame quite late - after working in the atelier of successful fashion designers of his time, Robert Piguet and Lucien Lelong, he opened his own business only at the age of 42. Mr. Dior's debut collection revolutionized ideas about female beauty, and he himself became the most popular fashion designer not only in France, but throughout the world. January 21 marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of the greatest fashion figure of his era. For this date, ELLE has prepared a review of the main collections of the House of Christian Dior, created by both its founder and followers.

With his first collection, Christian Dior sought to say goodbye to the poverty of the post-war period and the hated zazu style. “Fashion wanted to return to its original purpose, and its purpose was to adorn women, to help them become beautiful,” writes Dior in his autobiography about the 1947 collection “Crown Line,” which, thanks to journalists, became known throughout the world under the name “ New Look". The designer created the image of a flower woman - high breasts, a thin waist, like a stem, and a fluffy, like a corolla, ankle-length or slightly higher skirt. Despite the fact that the dresses of the New Look silhouette instantly made Dior famous, his debut collection caused a lot of controversy - feminists accused him of wanting to put women in corsets again, and the legendary one even called his work “the main horror of the late 1940s.” .

In 1957, after Dior's sudden death, the House was headed by his assistant, 21-year-old Yves Saint Laurent. With his first collection, Trapeze, the fashion prodigy created a revolution, just like his teacher. He saved the company from a seemingly inevitable collapse. As the basis for the models for his debut independent work Saint Laurent took the trapezoid silhouette with straight lines and short length. By universal recognition, Dior's 1957 collection was intended for a younger, more fashionable clientele than the work of the house's founder.

Frenchman Marc Bohan headed the House of Dior longer than anyone else - he served as creative director for 28 years. During this time, he completely changed the brand's style, its DNA and key characteristics. “I create clothes for real women, not for mannequins and fashion magazines,” Bohan said, accusing Christian Dior of being too decorative. However, despite the brilliant start to his career, it was under Bohan that Dior lost its former glory and fell into decline in the late 1980s. Marc Bohan's most popular work for Dior was his 1966 collection based on the then-released film Doctor Zhivago. Long coats with fur collars and wide belts became fashionable symbols of their time.

Bohan, who was fired in 1989, was replaced by the Italian Gianfranco Ferre, who returned Dior to its former shine. While working on collections, the designer studied the archives of the House, wanting to revive the traditions laid down by its founder. Ferret managed to return the recognizable elegant and feminine style of the brand, giving it a modern sound. As the first non-French designer to head the house, he created designs that embodied Parisian chic. Already his first collection for Dior in 1989 was a huge success and received the prestigious Golden Thimble award.

Dior under John Galliano

The flamboyant Briton headed Dior in 1996. With his debut collection for Dior, “Misia Diva,” he showed that he was not going to follow the usual path. The designer sought to make each show a theatrical show with the development of the plot. Galliano's extravagant collections were based on ethnic motifs; he studied fashion history and culture different countries and created real works of art, which often caused heated debate among advocates fashion traditions and fashion innovators.
