There is snow all around. Frost draws on the glass. The garlands are hung. The Christmas tree is already decorating the house, but something is missing, some zest. It's New Year's balls self made will make your forest beauty irresistible, give it shine and sophistication. Our author of master classes in Svetlana Sorokina has prepared three master classes for youon beautiful Christmas tree balls made of ribbons.

In this master class I want to invite you to do New Year's ball. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it combines a satin ribbon with gold lurex and foamiran with gold plating.

For the New Year's ball we will need:

  • Styrofoam ball with a diameter of 7 cm;
  • Yellow satin ribbon with gold lurex 0.5 cm thick;
  • Purple satin ribbon with gold lurex 0.5 cm thick;
  • Gold brocade 6 mm thick;
  • Gold-colored hugger with a diameter of 2 cm;
  • Cutting flowers from gold glitter foamiran 1.6 cm;
  • 22 half-beads of pearl color with a diameter of 6 mm;
  • Golden glitter foamiran;
  • Lilac foamiran 1 mm thick.

Of course, the composition of materials, their colors and shades may be different for you. These master classes are step by step description work in which you will learn how to make your own unique Christmas tree balls from ribbons.

Step by step description:
1. First, let's prepare a ball in order to decorate it later. We will need a foam base, a narrow ribbon with lurex in two colors and gold brocade (Photo 1).

2. We need to divide the ball into 4 equal sectors. To do this, take two pins, determine the top and bottom of the ball and insert the pins. Now we wind the thread, dividing it into sectors (Photo 2).

3. We draw along the line of the thread with a pen, pressing lightly. It is better not to use a felt-tip pen for such purposes (Photo 3).

4. First, wrap the ball with purple ribbon. Apply glue on top and bottom with each turn (Photo 4).

5. Then change the tape to yellow (Photo 5).

6. We glue the junction of the yellow and purple tape with gold brocade on all sides. We also glue the brocade around the circle of our ball. We make a rope from a narrow yellow ribbon (photo 6).

7. To decorate the ball we will use flowers made from glitter foamiran. The flower size is 1.6 cm. I made them myself using a hole punch, but you can cut them out or buy ready-made ones (Photo 7).

8. To give them shape, you need to apply them with the shiny side to the iron for a couple of seconds. Glue a half-bead into the center of each flower (Photo 8).

9. Glue the flowers in a circle onto the gold brocade. I used 17 flowers (Photo 9).

10. Now let's start with the bow. I found the templates on the Internet, printed them out and transferred them to cardboard for future use. I indicated the dimensions on the blanks (Photo 10).

11. Transfer the parts to foamiran using a toothpick or a Chinese stick. We cut out blanks from glitter gold foamiran and lilac thin foamiran (Photo 11).

12. Glue the parts together. Cut out a thin strip of lilac fom 1*4 cm and glue it in the center of the bow (Photo 12).

13. I decided to decorate the bow with flowers. First I glued one flower in the center, and then two flowers on one side and the other (Photo 13).

14. Our ball and bow are ready (Photo 14).

15. Glue the bow at an angle. Hold it with your fingers for a few seconds (wait for the glue to set). Glue a gold hugger to the bottom of the ball. Is our Christmas decoration ready.

Christmas ball using kanzashi technique

An excellent gift and decor for a New Year's room is a shiny, original handmade ball. The combination of bright colors in the New Year's ball will be remembered by every guest. Even a beginner can create such a decoration. In this master class I will write in detail all the materials used and a description of the work.

For the original New Year's ball we will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of 10 cm;
White satin ribbon with gold lurex – 1.2 cm* 7 m;
Gold brocade – 4 pieces 0.5*15 cm;
Gold brocade – 1 piece 0.5*20 cm (for a rope);
44 mother-of-pearl half-beads with a diameter of 6 mm;
Gold tire – 4 stripes;
A gold-colored hug (at the bottom of the ball) with a diameter of 2 cm.

For flower arrangement we need:

23 pieces of red satin ribbon – 2.5*2.5 cm;
23 pieces of satin ribbon white– 2.5*2.5 cm;
13 pieces of satin ribbon Green colour– 2.5*2.5 cm;
White felt base with a diameter of 2 cm (under the central flower);
3 gold huggers with a diameter of 2 cm;
2 yellow dew half-buins with a diameter of 1 cm;
1 yellow half bead with a diameter of 1.4 cm;
6 double-sided stamens, white with sparkles.

For the bow on the balloon we will need:

4 pieces of red satin ribbon – 5*10 cm;
4 pieces of gold brocade – 4*10 cm;
4 pieces of New Year's plaid – 2.5*10 cm;
4 pieces of red satin ribbon – 5*11 cm;
4 pieces of gold brocade – 4*11 cm;
4 pieces of New Year's plaid - 2.5 * 11 cm;
2 pieces of red satin ribbon - 1.2*12 cm;
Gold colored rhinestone tire.

Step-by-step description of the work.

1. First we need to prepare the New Year's ball itself. We will need a foam blank in the form of a ball with a diameter of 10 cm and a satin ribbon (Photo 1).

2. Using a pen, mark the top and bottom of the ball. We begin to wrap it in a circle clockwise. We fasten the tape with hot glue on both sides of the ball (Photo 2).

3. Mentally divide the ball into four sectors. And glue on narrow gold brocade (Photo 3).

4. Now we begin to glue the mother-of-pearl half-beads onto the gold brocade. I got 11 pieces on each strip (Photo 4).

5. Let's start with the bow. On one side the bow will be full of six petals, on the other - two. We cut the red ribbon, gold brocade and plaid into pieces of 10 and 11 cm (4 pieces each). We connect the three ribbons together, soldering the ends with fire (Photo 5).

6. Fold the pieces in half and make a fold on one side and the other (Photo 6).

7. Glue the small petals together in twos. One blank will be used for a large bow, and the second with reverse side ball. We glue the remaining 4 large blanks together in the shape of a bow (Photo 7).

8. Glue the two blanks together. Then we wrap a red ribbon around the bow and glue a gold tire of two stripes (Photo 8).

9. Glue a narrow piece of gold brocade on top of the ball (Photo 9).

10. Glue a large bow at an angle on the front side and a small one on the back (Photo 10).

11. Let's get busy green leaves. We will need 13 of them, two branches of 5 petals and single ones. Making a simple sharp petal. We fold a piece of 2.5 * 2.5 cm twice diagonally, connect the ends together and solder it with fire. We trim the bottom of the petal a little and also treat it with fire (Photo 11).

12. Glue the petals into branches with hot glue (Photo 12).

13. Now let's move on to the flowers. There will be 3 of them: one of 9 petals and 2 of 7 petals. The flowers consist of double sharp petals. You will need a ribbon of two flowers: red and white. The petal is made like a simple sharp petal, but we fold two triangles together (Photo 13).

14. Cut out a circle with a diameter of 2 cm from felt and glue 9 petals onto it. We glue the half-bead with the hugger and connect it with the flower (Photo 14).

15. Glue a flower to the center under the bow. We collect the remaining petals on a thread, 7 pieces each, and glue the centers (Photos 15 and 16).

16. Glue the other two flowers and green twigs (Photo 17).

17. Glue single green petals and 4 bunches of stamens, 3 each. And the final touch, glue a golden tire in the middle of the sectors. Our New Year's decoration is ready.

Christmas ball made from bias tape

This lesson shows one of the options for decorating a Christmas tree - elegantball. It will turn out colorful and light, and will not break if it falls on the floor. You can rightfully consider it a creative handmade product that you can repeat and decorate your Christmas tree or give to friends.

The ball is made without a base. If you prepare fittings of the same size, you will get a product about 5-6 cm in size. So the decoration will be quite noticeable.

So, for work you will need:

  • 8 pieces of red bias tape - 1.5*7 cm;
  • 8 pieces of pink bias tape - 1.5*6 cm;
  • 8 pieces of yellow bias tape - 1.5*5 cm;
  • 8 pieces of gold bias tape - 1.5*4 cm;
  • 8 pieces of white bias tape - 1.5*3cm;
  • golden tire;
  • half (longitudinal) lace Track - 2*20 cm;
  • golden huggers: round and bell – 1 pc. each;
  • crimson half bead with a diameter of 8 mm – 1 pc.;
  • gold cord.

As you can see, what is used here for working in the kanzashi technique is not a standard satin ribbon, but a denser, elastic bias tape. The width of the segments is the same, they differ only in length, the stripes are gradually shortened, since the rings of the New Year's ball will be created from the parts. If you don’t have bias tape, then choose some other dense material; if you use satin or brocade ribbon, you will have to use a base - for example, a tennis ball.

New Year's kanzashi ball step by step

1. Cut the bias tape into lengths, guided by colors. The lengths are indicated in the list: 7 cm, 6 cm, 5 cm, 4 cm, 3 cm. Assemble the parts in pairs. You don’t have to singe the strips right away; it’s rational to do this at the second stage.

2. Fold the pieces in half lengthwise and solder the ends using a lighter. Thus, the dense material will be doubled, and the ends will be singed and will not crumble.

3. Next, glue the bent pieces of the same length together in pairs. You need to get rings; to do this, connect each end to the other end at an angle of 90 degrees. The result will be rings - three-dimensional parts of the same shape, but decreasing in size and of different colors. These will be the starting layers for the interesting petals.

4. Then glue the resulting droplet rings into each other. The result is a convex petal. Assemble the parts like a pyramid.

5. The last white ring will be the smallest. It is difficult to model due to the short length of the segments. Glue it in carefully last. There will be a hole in the center of the five-layer petal. In total you will need 4 identical five-layer petals.

6. Glue the individual parts (these will be quarters of a volumetric ball) together. Make smooth and clear joints. Prepare a gold splint to mask the seams, apply it to the parts from top to bottom to measure the length.

7. Glue the ball together and glue pieces of the tire crosswise to enhance the decoration. In this case, you need to use a minimal amount of glue; you can only drop it into the upper and lower poles of the ball, then press down the ends of the segments.

8. Decorate the bottom of the toy with a gold hugger and a pink half-bead (they will not only decorate the product as a whole, but will also hide the joints that will remain in the glue). Press with your finger exactly at the center point.

9. For the top of the decoration you need lace and a bell hug with a cord. Thread the lace onto a thread, pull it off, and glue the resulting fluffy cloud to the bell (insert the assembled tip into the small hole). But first insert a loop of gold cord into the hole of the bell.

10. Glue the top to the ball. Christmas decorations It’s ready, its shape is standard, it’s easy to hang the product on a green thorny branch.

This beautiful handmade ball is unique and has no repetitions. You can make a whole set of similar products of different shapes and sizes.

Artichoke ball

Balls made using the artichoke technique look no less interesting; they are made very simply.

Prepare:

  • foam ball,
  • satin ribbons,
  • thin pins or glue gun.

First, we will glue a thin ribbon or cord from which the ball will be suspended. This will be the top of the ball, from which we will start laying out the pattern.

Then we will cut the satin ribbon into rectangles, which we will fold into a corner.

We begin to attach the triangles from the top of the ball, attaching with glue or two pins to the lower corners.

See the detailed master class.

When the entire surface of the ball is filled, cover the joints of the triangles from below with a strip of tape:

Similarly, using the artichoke technique, you can make, for example, a bell:

Before the New Year, everyone is interested in decorating the Christmas tree, especially children perform this festive ritual with special trepidation, because they are getting closer to a fairy tale. Of course, you can use the same Christmas tree decorations year after year. But some new product is worth buying for greater interest. Or you don’t have to buy it, but make a new Christmas tree decoration with your own hands.

The Christmas tree ball can be made from ribbons using the kanzashi technique. It will take very little time to make such a craft, and there is no need to use any scarce or expensive materials. Purchase the accessories indicated in the list and get to work. If you look carefully, you can dream up and say that such a flat ball of satin details would look great as a brooch or as a hair clip. This New Year's kanzashi will definitely find a use. Let's start with the description.

For work we will need:

  • 42 pieces of red satin ribbon measuring 1.2*5 cm;
  • 10 pieces of silver brocade measuring 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • 10 pieces of red ribbon measuring 2.5*2.5 cm;
  • 10 double-sided stamens of white, red or silver;
  • silver cord 23 cm long;
  • a strip of white or silver lace 30 cm long;
  • felt round bases with diameters of 2.5 cm, 4 cm and 4.5 cm;
  • cabochon center with a New Year's theme, for example, with the image of a snowman.

Kanzashi Christmas tree toy step by step:

From a red satin ribbon 1.2 cm wide you need to make sharp petals by folding the strips in half. The length of each strip is 5 cm. Having cut off the strips and singed their ends with a flame, proceed to folding. The technique for making such petals is quite simple. You need to bend the strip obliquely in the central part. Place the strip with the front side facing away from you. Next, rotate the side piece to align it with the bottom strip. The resulting two-layer blank with a corner will be the desired petal for the production of the intended ball.
Turn the workpiece to face you. Make a double fold at the base and glue the part in this position with the flame of a lighter.
Make 42 identical sharp petals to create a Christmas ball.

On the first felt base of the largest size (4.5 cm in diameter), begin gluing the first row of red parts. It will use 24 petals. Glue the petals at the very edge. At the first stage, the size of the toy will be set. The diameter of the product will be approximately 8 cm.
Glue the second row of 18 petals, moving the parts to the central part by 2-3 mm.
Use small red and silver squares with a side of 2.5 cm to create double sharp petals. All cut out squares should be singed first.

Make 2 identical folds in each square: diagonally, then vertically in the resulting triangle.
Place the red triangle on the silver one and roll up the oval petal, leaving the red piece inside.

Glue 10 petals of the same size. Assemble them into a flower; the lower part of each part can be cut off. Glue the plastic snowman into the center of the resulting flower.
Turn the back of the flower towards you and distribute the prepared stamens around the circumference. To cover the back of the flower with the stamens, take a small felt circle with a diameter of 2.5 cm.
Glue the flower in the center of the resulting composition.
Prepare the lace for the bottom layer.
If the lace is too wide, you can cut it lengthwise and use only one part. Insert the thread using a needle in large stitches along the edge of the lace strip.
Pull the thread tight to form a circle. Glue to the bottom of the craft.

We all love the New Year for the constant fragrant Christmas tree, a lot of all kinds of Christmas tree decorations, cheerful lights and, of course, gifts! These are all nice things, but to make them even more festive and even more enjoyable, let’s complicate the task: instead of buying it all in the store, we’ll make Christmas tree decorations! Let’s suffer a little through the pangs of creativity, dream, and then go ahead and CREATE something “like that,” for example, a pine cone for a Christmas tree in the Japanese kanzashi style!

The kanzashi technique came to us from ancient Japan, where it appeared more than 400 years ago! Beautiful Japanese women wore all kinds of pins and hairpins made from silk ribbons using this technique! Time passed, European beauties appreciated the jewelry and craftsmen appeared, ready to fulfill any whim... and learn new things.

Once you learn how to perform the basic element, you will also be able to create a wide variety of things, but for now, let’s get started.

To make such a beautiful cone with your own hands, you should stock up not only with patience, but also with some specific tools and materials, namely:

  • Dostochka;
  • Sharp scissors;
  • Soldering iron or lighter;
  • Bright satin ribbons, or strips of silk or organza in blue and silver colors, 2.5 cm wide;
  • A small piece of white tape 5 cm wide;
  • Mount for Christmas tree toy;
  • Moment-gel glue or glue gun (hot);
  • Special tweezers;
  • Monofilament;
  • Thin long needle;
  • Table tennis ball;
  • Thin silver cord for loop;
  • Simple pencil;
  • Thin tape or a small jar of cream;
  • Ruler.

We will carry out all manipulations on a regular kitchen board - so as not to damage the surface.

  • We cut our ribbons into squares, use a ruler so that the squares are really square and not rectangular!

To free up your second hand a little and make the process as convenient as possible, come up with a stand for your ball: a jar of cream, even simple tape is ideal as a stand.

  • Now we need to wrap all the squares into triangles. We do this using tweezers. Using a soldering iron or a regular lighter, we melt the edges of the triangles, thereby securing the desired shape and preventing the threads from unraveling:

For those who don’t know or have forgotten: triangles are made like this: the ribbon square is bent in half diagonally, and then bent in half again:

  • We make the first row of silver triangles, gluing them using Moment Gel or a glue gun directly onto the blue square. The sharp corners should “look” inside the blue square, and the distance between the triangles should be about 2 cm:

  • The second row will be made from the same silver triangles. They need to be glued in a checkerboard pattern between the already glued triangles.

  • The third row is performed in a similar way - with silver triangles glued into the spaces of the triangles of the previous row:

  • The next two rows are made with blue triangles. The principle of their arrangement is the same as that of silver blanks.

  • We continue row by row to make our bump, alternating colors through 2 rows:

  • Having reached the penultimate rows, we again glue the blue square onto the tennis ball:

  • Decorating our cone. To do this, take a small piece (10-15 cm) of white satin ribbon, fuse it with the edges to make a ring and stitch it on one side with a basting stitch.

  • And now we need to glue (or sew) a real mount for the new bump!

  • Now we take a thin silver cord and thread it through the fastening loop. We tie a strong knot and the New Year’s toy “pine cone” in the Japanese kanzashi style is ready:

Working with this technique is very interesting and exciting. Therefore, if you want to create some other Christmas tree “miracle”, then we will be happy to help you with this!

To make this wreath, you will need the same tools, golden beads and two types of ribbons: wide green (5 cm wide) and thin bright red (0.5 cm wide).
This Christmas tree toy is made from the same triangles, but they need to be “improved” a little, look at the photo instructions:\

4. Now carefully glue all 10 fragments on top of each other, while turning them a little in a circle, so that we can easily form a Christmas wreath from the resulting semicircular blank:

5. We connect the edges of the workpiece together and we get a wreath of ribbons in the kanzashi style. But for this wreath to become Christmas, you need to decorate it properly! To do this, we take beads, in this case golden color and glue or sew them to the wreath. Then a thin scarlet ribbon finally caught our attention, from which we will tie a beautiful bow and sew (or glue) it to the wreath!

In the kanzashi style you can make a lot of different toys, you are already convinced of this!

Christmas tree - kanzashi pendant

To make a Christmas tree like this, you will need a wide green ribbon, a thin red ribbon, a wide brown ribbon and a fastening clip!

Here, sharp and round petals are made from green tape (to be precise: 3 round and 5 sharp), these leaves are glued together in a certain order. The brown ribbon is twisted into a tube and glued as a tree trunk. A scarlet ribbon sits like a beautiful bright bow at the very top of the Christmas tree!

All creative work is completed by gluing the workpiece to the mount! Now hang the toy decoration wherever you want: not on the Christmas tree, on a curtain, on a blouse, or right in your hair!

Christmas balls made of fabric

To create a New Year's ball from fabric you will need:

A foam ball with a diameter of about 7 centimeters;
- colored synthetic fabric;
- a lot of safety pins;
- a string of white beads;
- scissors, heat gun.

Christmas balls made of fabric step by step:

Cut the fabric into squares with sides about 5 centimeters. For special texture, it is advisable to use squares of two shades (photo 2).

To simplify the workflow, draw median lines directly on the foam ball. In total, you need to make eight lines located at an angle of 45 degrees to each other (photo 3).

Take a square of fabric and fold it in half, then in half again. Attach the square to the axis of intersection of the median, pin it with a safety pin (photo 4).

Also fold squares of a different color into four parts and pin each ball crosswise to the surface (through one median) (photo 5).

Next comes a layer of squares that need to be pinned in the same way as the first, but stepping back a little from the center and closing the gaps (missing medians) (photo 6). Continue pinning fabric squares to the ball until you have covered exactly half the surface of the ball (Photo 7). It is advisable to make the second half plain (photo 8).

Glue a thread of beads onto the back side of the ball surface using hot glue and twist this element in a spiral (photo 9). While working, a cobweb of glue may remain on the beads - this is not scary. After a few minutes, when the glue has completely dried, the cobwebs can be easily removed (photo 10).

The New Year's ball made of fabric is ready! As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this technique. With great desire and perseverance, you will receive an originally decorated New Year tree.

New Year's patchwork ball.

To make a New Year's patchwork ball you will need:

Scraps of fabric;
- foam ball blank (any size);
- pins;
- felt-tip pen/pen;
- tape measure/centimeter;
- glue stick;
- wooden skewer;
- breadboard knife, compass, scissors;
- lace, ribbon, etc. for decorating the ball.

New Year's patchwork ball step by step:

Take a foam ball as a basis, in this case 60 mm in diameter. Using a centimeter, mark the center line on the ball, divide the circumference in half, mark with pins - these will be the lower and upper points of the ball (photo 1). Using a centimeter, draw another line through these points, dividing the ball into four equal parts (photo 2). By analogy, divide each part of the ball in half, so you will divide the ball into eight equal parts (photo 3).

Now draw a transverse line along the center of the ball. To do this, divide each line from the bottom and top points of the ball (where it was marked with pins) in half, and draw a transverse line along the marks (photo 4-5).

Next, take a compass, place it first at the top point of the ball, draw a circle, then do the same on the other side (photo 6). As a result, you will get a blank, as in photo 7. Make cuts along all the lines (that were marked) using a stationery knife to a depth of approximately 1-2 cm (photo 8).

You will need two templates, one in the shape of a triangle, the other in the shape of a trapezoid. Draw templates on paper, adding an allowance of about 7-8 mm. We advise you not to rush and not to cut out all the elements at once. First, try to cut out one part and secure it to the ball. It is likely that you will need to adjust the pattern, increase or decrease the allowance.

In this case, only two types of fabric were used, so 8 triangles and trapezoids were cut out of plain red fabric and the same number of elements from fabric with branches (photo 9). To secure small elements, use a glue stick, which fixes the fabric parts and prevents them from moving (photo 10).

Then, using a wooden skewer, begin to carefully tuck the excess fabric into the slits, paying due attention to the corners. For convenience, use a large needle with a blunt tip. For large items, a sandwich knife with a rounded tip is suitable (photo 11-12).

By analogy, fill all the parts (photo 13). And after a couple of hours, admire the result (photo 14-15). Now all that remains is to decorate the ball with ribbons, cords, beads, bells, pompoms, and caps for beads (photo 16).

New Year's balls made of threads.

To create Christmas balls from threads you will need:

Air balloons
- thick decorative threads or thin multi-colored cords
- PVA glue + glue container in which you will need to make holes
- needle, scissors

Christmas balls made of threads step by step:

Take balloon IR and inflate it to the appropriate size. Tie it up. You can knead the ball a little in your hands to give it a more rounded shape.
Thread the decorative thread through the needle and pierce the empty plastic glue container all the way through. It is better to do this closer to the bottom of the container.

When the thread passes through, pour PVA glue into the container, of which you will need quite a lot. It is not advisable to dilute it with water.

When using a thin ribbon, you can soak it completely in glue (Figure 3).

Pull the thread through a container of PVA, soaking it entirely with glue, and wind it around the base ball. When winding the thread, the ball must be turned frequently. At the same time, do not forget that the balloon will need to be removed later, so leave a little space in the area where the balloon is tied.

Once the desired density of the ball winding has been achieved, cut the thread, leaving a small tail to create a loop (for hanging).

Next, the ball should be left until completely dry for 1-2 days or dried with a hairdryer for about 5-10 minutes. After the glue has completely dried, pierce the balloon with a needle and carefully remove it. It is more convenient to do this through the place where it is tied. Make a loop from the remaining tail of the thread and tie it to the ball.

Decorate the resulting ball as you wish. You can paint it, cover it with sparkles and sequins, or leave it without decoration.
The ball is ready!

New Year's ball made of fabric

To create these New Year's balls you will need:

A foam ball with a diameter of about 10 cm
- tailor's needles with a metal cap
- three types of fabrics (three colors).

The process of creating Christmas balls from fabric:

The first step is to cut a lot of fabric squares. If your ball is 4 inches in diameter, cut the fabric into 3-inch squares. Make 8 squares of one fabric and 16 squares of 2 other fabrics.

You can also use two small pieces of the first type of fabric so that the foam ball does not show through the first layers. First we will make one half of the ball.

Pin one of the 2 fabric squares into the center of the ball; it may bulge a little, but in any case it will be completely covered by the next layer (Fig. 2).

Then take one square of the first material and fold it 4 times to determine its center (Figure 3). You need to insert a pin into the center of the square from the inside out (Fig. 4). Insert a pin with a fabric square into the foam ball (Figure 5). The fabric needs to be folded in half again, pinning the corners (Fig. 5).

You need to pin three more fabric squares (first material) to the ball. The result should be a completely closed fabric top (Figure 6).

Take the squares from the second fabric and start pinning them onto the ball (Figure 7).

Start with 4 squares, which seem to be a continuation of the previous layer. Adjust the distance between layers as desired. In this case it is about 1 cm. Use something like a template to keep all the pieces of fabric the same distance.

Secure four more fabric squares between them, as in Fig. 9-10.

You can stop at two layers or make a third layer similar to the previous one (Fig. 12).

Next, you need to turn the ball over and repeat the above steps with the second half of the ball. However, when placing pieces of fabric on the second side of the ball, it is necessary to take into account the first half, but 100% compliance is not necessary, since the joint will be covered with fabric.

So, the excess material at the junction of the 2 sides can be trimmed off. After which you can cover the joint with the material of the second layer, decorate with an organza ribbon. Pin one edge of the ribbon and sew the other.

You can also make a bow from a ribbon, by which the ball can be hung on a Christmas tree.
Glue or sew, as desired.

Ball made of fabric using the artichoke technique. Master Class.

An excellent master class on creating a completely textile ball with your own hands from scratch.

To create a fabric ball using the artichoke technique you will need:

Fabric for base;
- template paper + pencil;
- needle + thread, sewing machine;
- padding (sintepon/cotton wool).

To decorate the fabric ball:

For the lining there are two red squares, 8 beige squares measuring 5*5 cm, 16 squares of the same size, but of a different color (in this case with green stars), 16 squares of a third color.
- beads for decoration.

Artichoke fabric ball step by step:

1. Creating a fabric ball - the base.

Prepare a pattern from paper (Figure 1). Transfer to the fabric from the wrong side (Fig. 2). You will need to create 4 petals. Cut, remember to leave a seam allowance (Figure 3). Sweep the petals together in pairs (Figure 4-5).

Machine stitch on one side (Figure 6). As a result, you will get “pockets”, as in Fig. 7. Fold them together with the front sides (Fig. 8-9).

Sweep or pin. Then we grind it down (Fig. 10-11). Leave a hole on one edge of each petal through which the future ball will turn out and be stuffed (Fig. 12-13).

Fill the ball with filler and then sew it with a hidden seam (Fig. 14-15). As a result, you will get a ball, as in Fig. 16.

2. Ball decoration:

Take all the squares for decoration (except for those for lining), fold in half and iron (Fig. 18).

Place the squares intended for lining in the middle of the ball and pin them with pins so that they do not fidget (Fig. 19).

Then take the ironed beige squares (rectangles) and fold them into triangles (Figure 20-21).

Place such a triangle in the middle of the future fabric ball, as shown in Figure 22, and pin it in place.

Pin the 4th triangles and get a blank, as in Fig. 23. Start sewing the corners of the triangles. Sew opposite corners of some triangles (Fig. 24), and then others (Fig. 25).

Sew a bead for beauty at the junction (Fig. 26). Bring the needle under the triangles, as shown in Fig. 27. And carefully sew the triangles along the edge to the base of the ball (Fig. 28).

As a result, you will get something like in Fig. 29. Do the same with rectangles with asterisks. First, fold them in the form of triangles, and then put them on the ball and pin them with pins. Place the triangles in the proper order (Figure 30-31). Sew similarly to the previous steps (Fig. 32-34).

Apply triangles of the third color (Fig. 35-38).

As a result, you will get a half of the ball like this (Fig. 39), make the second one by analogy.

After that, cut strips measuring 5*10 cm and fold them in the same way as in Fig. 41. Iron everything. Attach it to the ball and pin it with pins (Figure 42). This must be done in order to decorate the sides of the ball.

Once again, cut strips 5*10 cm long and fold them as in Fig. 43-44.

Place these triangles on top of the previous ones, as in Fig. 45. Overlap (Fig. 46). Pin everything with pins (Fig. 47) and sew (Fig. 49-50).

Cone using the kanzashi technique. Master Class.

To create a cone using the kanzashi technique you will need:

Satin ribbon about 2.5 cm wide (two colors);
- base ball for ping pong;
- thread, monofilament or thin fishing line;
- thermo gun;
- tweezers;
- bead or attachment to Christmas tree decorations.

Cone using the kanzashi technique step by step:

Initially, cut squares from ribbons of two colors with a side of 2.5 cm and fold them in half into triangular modules (photo

1). One fabric square needs to be secured to a ping pong ball, gluing the center and edges well (photo 2). The base ball should be placed on a small jar, for example, a cream jar - this way it will not roll around on the work surface.

Fold the triangular modules in half again (photo 3). Then make the first row - glue four modules at once onto the surface of the ball so that it looks like a square (photo 4). Subsequent rows should consist of 2 parts, four modules in each.

Glue the second row of modules. Glue the first part of four modules between the parts of the first row (photo 5). And glue the second part between the parts of the first part so that the lower part of both parts of the second row is at the same level (photo 6).

Also glue all subsequent rows, alternating the colors of the modules (photo 7-8).

After gluing the penultimate row of modules, glue a piece of satin ribbon, hiding the surface of the ball (the same as at the beginning of the work process) (photo 9-10). Next, glue the last row of modules (photo 11-12).

The almost finished kanzashi cone needs to be decorated, starting from the top of the Christmas tree decoration. To do this, gather a satin ribbon onto a thread and pull it together to form a bow (photo 13). Hide the middle of the bow by gluing a mount for Christmas balls to it (photo 14).

A cone made using the kanzashi technique is ready to decorate the New Year tree.

Christmas tree ball using kanzashi technique.

To make a Christmas tree ball you will need:

Satin ribbon 2.5 centimeters wide in primary color (about 2.7 m) + ribbon for spirals (about 1.1 m);
- ping pong ball;
- wire, awl;
- decor: sequins, beads, pins, cord for hanging;
- heat gun and all other tools for Kansas production.

Christmas tree ball using quilling technique step by step:

The base will remain inside the Christmas tree decoration, so inexpensive ping-pong balls, which are very light, are best suited. The ball tolerates hot glue well, so there is no need to wrap it in anything and you can glue the “petals” directly onto it.

You will also need to securely attach a ribbon for hanging. Of course, you can simply glue the bead, but you can also secure it more securely by marking the middle approximately on both sides and piercing it through with an awl (photo 1). Then secure the wire with the fixed bead (photo 2). Try on the top (photo 3).

Glue sequins or other decoration and form the top (photo 5). And start gluing the petals.

1st row: 2 white, 2 red, 2 white, 2 red
2nd row: 1 white, 3 red, 1 white, 3 red
3rd row: increase, glue 2 petals. 2 white, 6 red, 2 white, 6 red

Continue in the same spirit without increasing the quantity.

In photo 10 it is noticeable that the petals are starting to “crowd” too much; it is clearly necessary to reduce them to the original 8 petals. And the last row is also 8. It took 144 petals to make this ball.

You can, of course, take not 8, but 10 petals in the first row, and then the ball will turn out more magnificent, since the petals will be attached more tightly.

New Year's toys made of sequins and beads.

For the manufacture of New Year's toys you will need:

Foam ball (about 6 cm in diameter);
- sequins and beads;
- needles with pearls.

New Year's toys made from sequins and beads step by step:

Sequins on a foam base can be attached in a chaotic manner using fittings various colors. So, take a sequin and put it on a needle with a pearl. You can also attach several sequins of different shapes at once. For example, first put a sequin on the needle blue color in the shape of a snowflake, with blue and/or purple on top.

Begin to carefully insert the needle into the foam ball, trying to fill its entire surface without gaps. You can place one sequin on top of another, but in this case you need to make sure that all the sequins are located at an equal distance from each other.

New Year's toys made of sequins and beads are ready!

DIY unbreakable Christmas balls

To create unbreakable toys you will need:

Floss threads of different colors + needle
- a foam ball, you can cut it yourself from polystyrene foam or make it from foil, newspapers, tightly tied with threads. You can use different materials, just make sure that the balls do not turn out too heavy.
- all kinds of decor (you can even use ready-made New Year’s applications)

Unbreakable Christmas balls step by step:

First of all, you will need to wrap a round workpiece with threads, for which you take it and start wrapping it crosswise several times. You need to wind it tightly enough. Finally, secure the end of the thread to prevent unraveling.

Now let's start decorating the ball (here everything will depend on your imagination and the availability of decorations). If you know how and love to embroider, you can embroider all kinds of New Year's ornaments. You can also sew a suitable applique to the toy, decorate it with beads, beads, or fabric flowers.

Finally, do not forget to make a holder for the finished Christmas tree decoration in the form of a rope, by which the ball will be hung on the Christmas tree.

Sweet New Year's balls. Master Class.

To create New Year's balls you will need:

Chocolate glaze;
- Balloons;
- kandurin;
- soft wide brush;
- baking paper;
- mastic/marzipan;
- wire;
- colander.

Sweet New Year's balls step by step:

Fill a balloon with water, tie it and place it in the freezer for 24 hours. Melt the chocolate glaze and fill it into a bag made of baking paper. Remove the ball from the freezer and remove it from the ice ball that formed from the water in the freezer.

Place the ice ball on a sheet of baking paper and decorate the ball on all sides with chocolate icing. Any glaze that accidentally ends up not on the surface of the ball, but on the baking paper, after hardening, remove it from the paper and use it again.

While the ice is melting and flowing through the holes in the chocolate painting, prepare the top for the balls. Twist a loop from the wire, and form a top from mastic or marzipan. Cover everything with silver/golden kandurin. Connect the top to the ball using melted chocolate.

Note: for pearl and silver balls, we recommend using white chocolate icing.

New Year's openwork paper balls.

We invite you to make these bright, openwork New Year's balls for the New Year that will fit perfectly into the interior or help you decorate the New Year tree.

To create openwork New Year's balls you will need:

Sheets of thick colored paper in A4 format;
- knife for artistic cutting;
- needle and thread;
- glue, scissors;
- beads for decoration;
- template (presented at the end of the article).

The process of creating Christmas balls from paper:

First of all, you will need to print out the templates on paper. If desired, you can resize the template proportionally.

Next, start cutting out patterns using a pattern knife. Part of the paper with the design can be covered with a sheet of paper so as not to accidentally erase the diagram during operation (Figure 2-4). After cutting the pattern, begin cutting out the unfolded ball along the contour (Fig. 5).

Now you need to give each part of the cut out diagram an o round shape, for which you can use a round pencil (Figure 6-7).

Then punch holes on both sides at the end of each petal (Figure 8).

Roll the cut paper into a ball and glue the edges of the development (Fig. 9).

All that remains is to make a loop from the thread - and the New Year's ball is ready for hanging.

New Year's ball made of fabric and foam.

To create these New Year's balls you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 7-8 cm;
- satin fabric or other fabric as desired;
- braid or ribbon, decorative beads;
- glue gun;
- scissors, knife.

New Year's ball made of fabric and polystyrene foam step by step:

First of all, mark the ball. To do this, take a thread, wrap it around and tighten it so that a small groove is formed on the ball for further work. The ball can be divided into any number of parts - 4, 6, 8, etc. In this case it was divided into 4 parts. You can draw the lines with a pencil for convenience.

Next, using a knife/scalpel, make cuts along the marked lines, about 7-8 mm deep. This should be done quite carefully so that the ball does not fall apart in your hands, especially if its diameter is small (less than 6 cm).

Cut a petal out of fabric large size than the slices on foam ball and begin to tuck the edge of the satin fabric inside in a neat manner. First insert to a depth of about 3-5 mm. After you go around the entire outline, cut off the excess fabric and hide the edges. Thus, cover the entire surface of the ball, slice by slice.

Then start decorating. Place the ends of the beads inside the ball. Secure the loop with a drop of hot glue. Moment type glue can cause the foam to begin to melt. Pull the beads tightly so that they do not dangle when finished. And also with the second half of the beads.

Cut the loop to the desired length, add a drop of glue, insert the tails, and press.

The New Year's ball made of fabric and foam is ready!

You can tie a bow, draw snowflakes or glue sequins!

This ball will be a great gift for the New Year!

Decoupage of New Year's balls.

To decoupage Christmas balls you will need:

Plastic balls with a diameter of 8 cm;
- three-layer napkins with a pattern;
- acrylic paints different colors: white, blue, yellow + brush;
- PVA glue;
- acrylic lacquer;
- a little semolina;
- sparkles;
- contours on ceramics and glass;
- a piece of sponge for washing dishes;
- plastic board for modeling.

Decoupage Christmas balls step by step:

You can purchase simple balls without a pattern in any color (gold, purple, silver, matte or glossy.

Take a ball and a piece of sponge, put a little white paint on the board, dab the sponge into the paint and apply it with point movements onto the ball. Make sure that there is always paint on the sponge, then you will get the effect of a snow coating on the ball.

Paint all the balls in this way and hang them to dry for about an hour.

Meanwhile, prepare your napkins. Why separate the top bright layer from the white one. Carefully cut out the design.

Dilute the PVA with water by half and glue the design to the ball. Start gluing from the center of the picture, gradually moving towards the edges. Do this action with all motives.

For balloons with bunnies, make light yellow paint and apply it with “smacking” movements around the motif on a white background.

After the paint has dried, coat the ball with varnish.

Next, let's create a winter effect, for which take a small amount of white paint and mix it with semolina until you get a thick porridge. Using a thin brush, apply to the ball in those places where there will be snow.

Let it dry. After that, take varnish and small silver sparkles, and cover the semblance of “snow” first with varnish, and then apply glitter.

Wool Christmas ball.

In this master class you will see the process of making New Year's wool balls. The process is quite simple and does not require you to master wool felting skills.

At first glance, it may seem that it is very difficult to learn how to felt felt toys. But such beautiful things can be done without certain skills and special tools. However, in this case, you will still need to purchase wool from a craft store, and then you can make exactly the same wool Christmas ball. Children will be delighted with these balls - they can be removed from the branches and played with snowballs right in the apartment!

For making wool Christmas balls you will need:

Felting wool in different colors;
- padding polyester (other filler);
- sewing needle+ thread, scissors;
- pins with pearls;
- nylon stocking;
- optional decor: beads, sequins.

Wool Christmas ball step by step:

Form a ball of padding polyester and tie it with thread so that it holds its shape. Then evenly wrap colored felting wool around the padding polyester blank, secure it with a felting needle or using regular pins.

After completely wrapping the ball in wool, place it in a nylon stocking and tie a knot. All you need to do is wash the workpiece in hot water(V washing machine) on the “boiling mode” and squeeze at maximum speed. Then remove the ball from the stocking and dry it.

Start decorating - mark the future design with pins. Decorate the ball with woolen threads, securing them with pins with “pearls”, thereby laying out the desired pattern. Secure the resulting decor using sewing threads, while decorating the ball with beads and sequins in the places where the pattern is secured.

Attach a beaded loop to the top of the Christmas ball and you can hang it on the tree.
Happy Holidays!

Painting a glass ball for a Christmas tree.

To paint the ball you need:

Glass bowl;
- contour for glass and ceramics;
- stained glass paint on a varnish base (here from Hobby Line);
- paint for creating pearls (here from Viva Dekor);
- thin synthetic round brushes number 1 or 2 (ideally, each color has its own brush);
- the most inexpensive nail polish remover (acetone);
- cotton pads, rag.

Painting a glass ball on a Christmas tree step by step:

First, think about what you will depict on the ball. Here, elements of lace served as inspiration (photo 2). Apply the design with a silver outline. First, you can draw a schematic drawing using a washable marker and make sure that the outline is located next to the line and not on it. While painting, the ball can be placed on a mug or glass - this way it will be fixed and will not turn over (photo 3). Since the ball is round, first paint one part and let it dry (this way you don’t accidentally push the drawing together while working) (photo 4).

After you have painted the entire surface of the ball and allowed it to dry completely, proceed directly to painting. For this ball, white and blue stained glass varnish paints were used. For the third color they were mixed together in the lid (photo 5). Carefully drop paint onto a fragment of the design and stretch it to the edges. The advantages of varnish paints include quick drying and the complete absence of air bubbles on the surface, which is quite important when painting small elements (photo 6). Let the paint dry before starting to paint the adjacent element so that the paints do not mix (photo 7).

Slowly paint the entire surface of the glass ball. Let it dry by hanging it somewhere, just make sure first that the paint will not bleed (photo 9). Decorate the ball with paint to create pearls (photo 10). Place droplets of different sizes wherever you wish. Let dry.

Clean paint brushes using nail polish remover and cotton pads. By changing the color of the outline and paints, you can paint a couple more balls.

Christmas ball decor using polymer clay.

To create such a ball you will need:

Clay of two colors (in this case red + white);
- glass ball;
- two 18-inch strips about 2x4 long;
- extruder;
- wax paper;
- glue;
- rope/ribbon for hanging.

We decorate the Christmas ball with polymer clay step by step:

Drill a hole in the top of the bar that is slightly larger than your extruder. Fasten the two planks together using a connecting loop. Next, you need to close the slats and create a shallow hole in the bottom of the slats in the same place. This will prevent the piston from slipping. To use this design, simply insert an extruder with clay into it.

Then put two pieces of clay of different colors together and wrap them in wax paper, the ends of which should be slightly longer than the “sausages” (Fig. 8-9).

Now, using an extruder, you need to squeeze out two-color strips of clay (Figure 10). Then clean the piston from the extruder and proceed to the next step (Figure 11).

Take one of the resulting thin strips and lay it out on your work surface. Cut one end and start twisting into a spiral (Figure 13).

Then place the twisted spiral of clay in the lower center of the glass ball and gradually begin to wind this strip onto the ball in a spiral (Figure 13-14). Use glue to hold the clay on the surface of the ball. When you have covered half the ball, carefully trim the end of the “sausage”.

It is easier to work with clay when it is not raw, so hang the ball on wooden stick or a toothpick, and place the ball itself in a glass container and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 265F. After the ball has cooled, remove its iron top and continue wrapping it with clay.

Continue until you completely cover the surface of the ball with clay. Try to connect the “clay sausage” as clearly and evenly as possible. Then replace the iron ball mount and bake for 30 minutes.

Decorate the finished ball with a beautiful bow!

New Year is a holiday that every child looks forward to with delight, and every adult wants to please both themselves and their children with skillful crafts.

Things made using the kanzashi technique will be an excellent holiday decoration. Master classes on making your own Christmas tree decorations have been popular for a long time, but with the help of this technique you can make other new items: hair decorations, toys, crafts. Ideas and MK of crafts are now also actively published in magazines.

Traditionally, using the kanzashi (or kanzashi) technique, geisha made decorations for hair accessories - combs, hairpins, hairpins - from multi-colored ribbons. During their existence, so many different subspecies were born that it makes no sense to list them all. We’d better tell you how and from what to make a New Year’s decoration in the Japanese style.

New Year's kanzashi balls: step-by-step production

Creating a toy using the kanzashi technique is quite easy. Different shapes designs give room for imagination: from standard balls to original cones, flowers or snowflakes (they can then be used as decorations, brooches or additions to hairpins).

An undoubted advantage of crafts in the kanzashi style is the ease of their manufacture. As soon as you learn how to make the main element, everything will immediately become clear, and the work will begin to boil, and original patterns will not become a difficult task for you. There are many master classes in which the author easily and simply makes a craft in 5 minutes, but know that not everything is so simple, and at first this technique requires perseverance and patience.

Balls can be made from different materials. We invite you to make jewelry from satin ribbons.

To make toys with your own hands, you need to stock up on the following tools:

  • a wooden or plastic board to make it convenient to place and sort the main elements of the ball;
  • well-sharpened scissors for cutting ribbons;
  • a candle, soldering iron or lighter to process the edges of the cut ribbon so that it does not unravel;
  • actually, ribbons. This can be a skein of satin ribbons or organza of any colors that you like;
  • fastening for a toy. Regular wire will suffice, but there are also special fastenings for Christmas tree decorations - you can also use them;
  • glue, You can take “Moment” or 88, theoretically - a glue gun, but you need to work with it with extreme caution;
  • instead of glue, you can use thin safety pins without heads;
  • thin tweezers with a comfortable grip;
  • the main element is a ball on which you will form your toy from ribbons. To do this, you can take a regular tennis ball or a special round foam mold.

For a Christmas tree decoration, cut pieces of ribbon in a rectangular shape (as opposed to squares for decorating hair). The quantity depends on how large the ball you use as a base. To ensure that the blanks are the same size, use a template or simply make markings on the tape itself.

  1. First determine the middle of the ball. There, attach the backing - a large square piece of ribbon, from which the decoration will go further.
  2. You need to make triangles from rectangles. Fold the sides towards the middle and smooth the edges a little so that the workpiece does not straighten out.
  3. Each triangle is attached to the ball so that its vertex is directed towards the center of the ball and the backing that you have secured there.
  4. Secure 4 triangles along all sides of the square backing. The workpieces should not touch the edges; leave a little space between them.
  5. The next layer is applied in the gaps that you left between the parts of the previous one.
  6. After all the triangles are secured to the middle, start doing the same on the other side. Don't forget the square backing.
  7. When the toy is ready, you will probably have a seam in the middle where the fasteners will be visible. It can be closed with a ribbon secured around the ball.
  8. Attach a mount, hang the beauty on the Christmas tree.

To make it easier to understand, we have prepared a graphical diagram for you.

Kanzashi crown for the New Year: how to please the little princess and the big queen

Any decoration has magical powers for a girl, girl or woman. For creating festive mood A New Year's tiara or kokoshnik will do - whichever you like best.

As a basis for the crown, you can take a wide or narrow hoop, or even an ordinary, unremarkable crown from any toy store. It is better to choose two types of ribbons for decoration - satin and organza. This way the crown will look truly royal.

Here we will use a different technique. For a beautiful crown, you will have to cut the ribbon into squares. Therefore, it is better if the tape is wide. The only thing this technology has in common with the previous one is that the blanks also need to be folded into triangles. But their “production” does not end there - now the corners need to be pulled together and secured.

To make the decoration even more beautiful, try placing satin and organza triangles on top of each other, and only then connecting the ends. You can also attach a bead in the middle of the resulting petal.

Connect the petals together with glue to form a crown. How to do it? Look at the petals - they look like a diamond. Keeping this association in your head, glue the side tops of the blanks together.

Decoration is not should be flat, it should be voluminous so that such a “crown” can be placed on table, and she stood without any problems the tops would be up.

Having completed the first circle, fasten the last petals together and place the workpiece on a felt round base. Now begin to create the second circle: apply glue to the lower top of the diamond and attach it between the two petals of the first circle.

Glue the finished crown to the rim. Original decoration ready!

And this is how you can make a kokoshnik-kanzashi:

New Year's toys Kanzashi

New Year's decorations for the Kanzashi-style Christmas tree made of satin ribbons are not just balls. Flowers, butterflies or pine cones will look very beautiful.

Something more abstract should not be done; it may not fit with other toys, rain or garlands. It will take the most time to create butterflies, but the work will be rewarded as soon as the product takes its rightful place on the tree.

But making a cone will not take much time. We fold the already familiar rectangular pieces of ribbon into a triangle, but do not fasten it immediately, but fold it in half in half, and only after that fasten it. For this toy it is better to use a thin ribbon.

Such petals are attached to an elongated cone-shaped blank. A light bulb or a cosmetic sponge will do, where one end is sharp and the other is wide, rounded.

New Year's decorations Kanzashi

The kanzashi technique can be used to create hair decorations. Pleasant additions for headbands, headbands, elastic bands, and hairpins can be changed at least every day. Using this technique you can create beautiful bows or large bows, brooches, New Year's masks and even full sets for girls or school ties for boys.

To make a decoration, for example, for a hairpin, you need to roll up petals from squares, glue them onto a felt blank, but do not glue them together. That is, smear the bottom top of the diamond and immediately glue it to the felt, then take the second petal, also glue it to the felt, and so on.

You can glue the second row directly inside, or you can use a trick: make three blanks of different sizes. When you're done with the larger one, glue a square of foamiran or other foam material in the center, and a felt circle on top of it. This will make the decoration look more voluminous. Glue a bead or rhinestone to the center of the top flower. And of course, glue all this splendor onto a hairpin.

New Year's crafts from Kanzashi

In the kanzashi style, you can make not only jewelry or toys, but also souvenirs. Christmas trees and small souvenir trees, snowflakes, door wreaths, decorating a bottle of champagne, decorating gifts, cards and pots (as an original bow), as well as creating small pigs, magnets, panels, stars - will not only be fun for the whole family, but also will delight the guests. But you shouldn’t limit yourself to just this list. Flowers, bells, lanterns and other souvenirs will definitely delight you and your loved ones.
