I knitted this item as a gift, slightly changing the original.
There were a lot of questions about knitting in the discussion here, so I want to help a little for those who don’t know which way to approach this cute little thing.
So, the original: the 2005 magazine in Japanese (the entire magazine is available)

My threads: I bought 50g (200m) skeins of dark green, light green, yellow and orange, Cable`5 cotton from Mondial. (Of course, I bought more, there’s also lilac, pink, white and red, well, that’s my problem). There was enough of everything, and there was still more left. Great for recycling leftovers.

We start with the diagram on sheet 1 - a round base. On three circular rows there are marks above the double crochets in the form of triangles, and at the bottom of the same sheet on the right there are knitting patterns. These are chains of air loops and connecting posts - the basis for future leaves - they are knitted IMMEDIATELY, along with the base of the rug. Unfortunately, I didn’t photograph the whole process then; there is a photo with leaves. This dark vein near the leaf is these chains. Of course, at first they will all curl up like funny worms, but that doesn’t matter at all. Once we finish knitting the base, we move on to the leaves - diagram 2. They are of three different sizes, the leaves increase in size from the center to the edges.

We tied it up, put it aside, and knitted roses. Scheme 2. Having turned this diagram in my hands, I decided for myself that this was not for me. Well, I couldn’t... I knitted a completely simple version of roses using this completely ordinary pattern:

One large one, a little smaller and small ones. The size was selected by eye, knitting a sample once and counting which ones I needed. These roses are simply twisted and sewn - I sewed them to the base, focusing on the layout according to the picture and the layout on the third sheet. I secured them in several places on the base, and tucked the tails of the threads inward.

Roses made with your own hands are a different matter. A crocheted rose will be an interesting decoration for clothes, hair or interior. One of the uses of crocheted roses is to make them carpet. Such an item will not leave guests indifferent and will become a stylish accent in the interior.

The finished result

Development of the rug and mounting of roses

Having tied the required number of roses, they move on to assembling them into the clearing.

  • Use any fabric as the base of the mat; it is better to use cotton material.
  • Depending on taste, the canvas is decorated with roses, combining them in shape, size and color.
  • Knitted roses begin to be attached from the edge of the canvas or from the middle.
  • In order for a knitted product to last longer while maintaining its original appearance, it is recommended to select yarn from synthetic fibers. The most popular type of such yarn is acrylic. Cotton yarn is no less popular. But the disadvantage of cotton products is low thermal insulation.
  • For crocheting, it is better to select thick threads, which will make it possible to weave a thick and dense fabric that perfectly retains heat.

Main! When using thick threads, it is best to use hooks No. 5 and 8.

  • To knit flowers, different knitting patterns are used, the main thing is to have a good imagination.
  • To carpet did not differ much from the same background, it is possible to decorate another interior component in a similar way, for example, an ottoman.

Carpet, made from crocheted roses, this is the embodiment of its owner’s fantasy into reality. For weaving flowers, different patterns can be used, everything may depend on the preferences and experience of the knitting person. Such carpet creates an atmosphere of spring in the house, regardless of the time of year.

Million, million, million...knitted roses– I slightly paraphrased the famous song, because today I want to talk about crocheting one very interesting crocheted rug made of roses , the idea of which I found from the same Japanese craftswomen, and about knitted roses.

Crochet rose rug

Good afternoon

Recently, the topic of rugs has become perhaps the most popular on my blog, although many people like to knit napkins and tablecloths. I also really like making different decorative pillows.

What is my favorite topic, do you think?

Of course - roses. And I don’t even mean knitted roses now. And real living roses, which are so beautiful that they cannot leave anyone indifferent.

My first article on this blog is dedicated to, then I made a photo gallery of my rose garden.

When I saw this gorgeous rug with roses, I immediately wanted to knit one.

Despite the fact that I have been knitting for a very long time, many years, but still did not know how to knit roses, somehow such a need did not arise.

I found one pattern of a crocheted rose in my bins, the other in a group of Irish lace.

Knitting roses turned out to be quite simple.

Knitting roses pattern 1

According to the first pattern, we leave a long thread at the beginning of knitting and cast on a chain of 48 air loops.

First row: skip four loops and knit double crochets, on last loop- single crochet stitch.

Second row: 3 ch for lifting, 3 double crochets in each base loop. Break the thread, leaving a long end.

The result is a wavy stripe.

Iron the wavy edge, stretching it.

We roll the strip into a spiral, starting from the bottom edge counterclockwise.

We thread the thread from the bottom edge into the needle and grab the edges of the rose.

We thread the thread from the top edge into the needle, pull it through the center of the rose and fasten it from the wrong side.

It turns out a beautiful blooming knitted rose.

Knitting roses pattern 2

According to the second pattern, we knit a rose in a similar way, but it turns out even more beautiful due to the fact that each petal is formed.

  • We collect a chain of 75 VPs.
  • First row: we skip one loop, two single crochets in two loops of the chain, in the next loop - a single crochet and a double crochet, two double crochets in the next four loops of the chain, then we alternate one double crochet and two double crochet stitch.
  • In second row we knit the petals: single crochet, 2 double crochets, 1 double crochet, 4 times two double crochets, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets.
  • We twist the knitted wavy strip in a spiral into a rosette.

A million is not a million, but we need to make several knitted roses according to any of the patterns.

We will place the roses on our future rose rug. And this activity is very exciting.

Roses still need to be connected leaves:

For the leaves, we cast on seven air loops and first knit on one side a single crochet, a double crochet, three double crochets, a double crochet, five single crochets from one loop of the chain,

rotate the knitting: double crochet, three double crochets, double crochet, single crochet.

You can knit longer leaves using the same principle.

Forming a mat of roses

For the rug we knit a round base according to the pattern with double crochets, the last row we tie .

We sew on the base, beautifully arranging large and small knitted roses and leaves.

So wonderful rugs from crocheted roses I've never seen different colors before. But I don’t know how they can be used: it’s probably impossible to sit and stand on them.

The flowers are beautiful. I would like to have them in my home all year round. Unfortunately, this is not always possible in winter. Original rug“blooming roses” – unusual and very beautiful decoration. In addition, a hand-knitted item always pleases the heart.

The flower mat consists of many crocheted roses.

Despite their intricate shape, the flowers are very simple to make.

For knitting you will need a lot of multi-colored threads (you can use leftover yarn) and a great mood. Because things made with love bring joy and fill the home with positive energy.

For 100 flowers there are 700 g of yarn. At first glance, this is a lot. But practicing knitters always have threads left after different products. Our roses are multi-colored, so you can use leftover yarn to make them.

On average, one hundred roses make a square rug measuring 1x1 m. But you can experiment with the shape. The product will lie on the floor, which means that someone will walk in its beauty. Therefore, the mat must be strong enough.

To avoid rapid rubbing and pulling of threads, it is recommended to use acrylic wool or wool mixture.

It is advisable to use a non-slip dense fabric as a base.

By the way, not only rugs are made from flowers. Original jewelry can be assembled in the form of a cover for a decorative pillow or small-sized furniture. And individually, you can decorate curtains, tablecloths, bedspreads and other similar things with roses.

You can knit flowers different ways. The first method involves the following actions:

  1. Recruiting air loops(ch) in number 48. The remaining tail should not be short.
  2. The first 4 loops are skipped, then 1 stitch (c) is knitted with 2 yarn overs (n). The last loop is knitted with 1n.
  3. Knit 3ch, 3s 2n in each base. The thread is cut off with a margin.
  4. The resulting wavy braid is stretched a little. Then it is wrapped in a spiral counterclockwise.
  5. The bud is secured with the remaining threads, and you get an open rose.

You can knit a flower in another way:

  1. Cast on 75 air loops (ch).
  2. The first loop is skipped, then 2 single crochets (sc) are knitted in 2 ch.
  3. In the next ch, knit s1n and s2n.
  4. The next 4 ch are knitted 1s2n.
  5. Then there is an alternation of 1s2n and 2s2n.
  6. Next, the petals are knitted according to the following pattern: sc, 2s2n, 1s2n, 2s2n, 2s2n, 2s2n, 2s2n, 1s2n, 2s1n.
  7. The resulting strip is collected as a rose in the same way as the first method.

The final stage of needlework is assembling the rug.

It is best to use as a base cotton fabric: She will not shrink or slide across the floor. This fabric does not unravel and holds the thread perfectly.

Roses can be sewn from the edge or from the middle - as you wish. To make the rug dense and warm, you need to use thick threads and a hook.
