A cute lion with a lush mane can complement the collection of paper figurines made with your child. This paper lion craft is made quite quickly and turns out very bright.

How to make a lion from colored paper with your own hands?

To make a lion you will need the following materials:

  • yellow, white and orange paper;
  • checkered paper for patterns;
  • pencil;
  • black and red pens;
  • glue;
  • ruler;
  • scissors.

Operating procedure

  1. Let's make a paper lion pattern. Let's draw on plain paper the lion's body, head and cheeks, as well as details of the paws, mane, ears, tail and a brush for the tail. Let's cut them out of paper.

  2. Paper lion - cutting template

  3. Using a pattern, we cut out all the necessary details from colored paper.
  4. From yellow paper we cut out two parts of the head, tail, paws and ears, as well as one part of the lion’s body.
  5. From white paper we cut out two parts for ears and cheeks.
  6. From orange paper we cut out two parts of a tassel for the tail and 12 parts of the mane.

  7. Glue the chest to the lion's body.

  8. Let's roll up the body and glue it together.

  9. Glue the cheeks to one part of the head.

  10. Glue the white parts to the yellow parts of the ears.

  11. Let's glue the ears to the lion's head.

  12. Let's draw the lion's nose, eyes and mouth.

  13. Take the second head piece and glue the mane pieces to it.

  14. We wrap the ends of the mane and glue them.

  15. On top we glue another part of the head with ears and cheeks.

  16. Glue the lion's head to the body.

  17. We will fold and glue the parts of the lion's paws to form small tubes.

  18. Let's glue the paws to the lion's body. Using a black pen, draw claws on them.

  19. Glue the tail parts together, and glue the tassel parts at the end.

  20. Glue the tail to the lion's body.

  21. The paper lion is ready. For his company, you can make a lioness and a little lion cub, but they don’t need to make a mane. You can also make another African friend -

A funny lion cub can become an unusual souvenir that can be made simply and interestingly with children. These types of softies are extremely popular in Japan, where specialized books and magazines devoted to felt crafts are published in great abundance.

Materials and tools for crafts:
- pencil, paper, scissors, needle, pins, glue;
- a sheet of felt of beige, brown or yellow color;
- a little orange felt for the mane, white for the cheeks and brown for the nose;
- threads (“iris” suitable colors and thin threads to sew on the head);
- crochet hook(for “iris” No. 1 or even thinner);
- padding.

Making crafts:

1. You should redraw your patterns using tracing paper and cut them out.

2. Cut out the required number of parts from felt. To make it faster, the patterns can be secured to the fabric with pins, and the felt itself can be folded in half. This way, you won't waste extra time cutting out parts of the torso or head.
Cutting out the mane will require special care. This should be done in a circle, using small scissors with sharp tips.

First you need to cut out parts of the curls clockwise, then in the opposite direction, as this is more convenient than cutting out each small curl separately. To cut out the core, fold the piece in half. Don't try to cut it exactly along the edge - the extra allowance won't be visible anyway.
3. You can make a tail for a lion cub different ways. For example, we crocheted it from orange iris. Just dial air loops so that you get a chain of the required length, and cut the thread.
You can also sew a tail out of felt or replace it with a ribbon.

Making a brush for the tail is also quite simple. Cut out a small piece of arbitrary shape from felt, carefully wrap it around the tip of the tail and coat it completely with glue.
4. Sew the parts. To do this, we use a running stitch “over the edge” and a thick thread of a suitable or contrasting color.
Start sewing the lion's body from the front paws. Having reached the back ones, sew the prepared tail inside so that it holds tightly inside. Before finishing the body a little, carefully stuff the part. Spread the stuffing with a pencil so that it completely fills the paws. Sew the body completely, trying to make an invisible knot.
The ears don’t need to be stuffed, and it’s better to leave the lower flat part free.
5. When the torso is completely ready, it's time to move on to the head. To begin, design the muzzle. This is a rather important and creative stage, because the facial expression of the future toy will depend on it.
We embroidered the eyes and eyebrows using satin stitch, simply laying several parallel stitches side by side with brown threads.

Glue the cheeks and nose with permanent transparent glue when the toy is completely sewn and stuffed.
You can show your imagination and add a mustache or other details to the muzzle, depending on your taste.
Using pins, carefully fasten all the parts: 2 parts of the head, mane, ears.
Sew with small stitches using a running stitch so that the needle passes through all layers of fabric and there are no holes through which the stuffing can then come out.

This little lion cub is another easy to make soft toy. I hope the kids like it.

Materials and tools for the master class "Soft toy "Lion Cub""

Satin ribbons in yellow and orange colors;
- yellow and white fabric(fleece is best);
- holofiber;
- green turnip ribbon;
- threads;
- black round beads;
- needle;
- scissors.

Instructions:

1. The pattern of a lion cub consists of a torso, muzzle, paw and ear. These details can be drawn from the monitor onto paper and cut out.

2. We will redraw the paper parts of the body, head, paw and ear onto yellow fabric and cut them out with seam allowances. We will need two parts each for the ear, body and head and four parts for the paws.

3. Cut out the lion cub’s face from white fabric (without adding allowance). We will also cut out two ears from white fabric, but with seam allowances.

4. Cut the orange ribbon into seven pieces 9 cm long, and cut the yellow ribbon into 8 pieces, also 9 cm long. We will use these ribbons to make a mane for our lion cub.

5. Sew together the parts of the body and paws with right sides together. We will leave a hole on the body in the neck area. We will sew the lion cub's paws completely.

6. Let's sew ears for the lion cub from yellow and white parts. At the base of the ears we will leave unsewn sides.

7. Sew the lion cub’s muzzle to one part of the head.

8. To the other part of the head we baste the pieces of ribbons folded in half, alternating yellow and orange.

9. Sew together the parts of the head so that the part of the muzzle and the ribbon are inside. We'll leave a hole near the neck.

10. Make small holes on the paws using scissors. Let's turn out all the parts of the toy.

11. We fill the head, paws and torso with holofiber.

12. Sew up the holes on the paws, neck and ears with yellow thread.

13. Sew the lion cub’s head to the body.

Volumetric hippo

The shelves in the nursery are already bursting with soft toys? Are there hippos among them? If not, you need to urgently correct the mistake. A cheerful and friendly hippopotamus really wants to visit you. Thanks to step by step lesson even a novice handicraft lover can make it.

To work you will need:

  • dense cotton fabric two colors;
  • filler;
  • eyes or black beads;
  • 3 small buttons for nostrils and tail;
  • a piece of ribbon.
Print or redraw the toy pattern. By printing it on A4 format, you will receive a pet measuring 22*15cm. The details are drawn without seam allowances.

Cut out the resulting patterns and cut out the parts of the future toy from the fabric. It is better to take a material for the body that is dense and elastic, so the toy will look more neat.

The belly and back of the hippopotamus can be cut from the same fabric or made in different colors. If you settled on a monochromatic option, cut out a solid piece. To do this, connect the two parts of the pattern in the muzzle area.

First of all, sew the ears and paws, connecting the parts with the right side inward. Sew the foot circles to the bottom of the paws.

Turn the pieces inside out and stuff the paws, leaving free space at the top for sewing.

If you took a fabric that is not very dense, in place of the eyes with reverse side stick on a piece of non-woven fabric.

If using two parts for the body, sew them along the muzzle.

Baste the side pieces to the body, starting from the ear to the back. Then again from the ear to the bottom of the muzzle. By the way, at this stage do not forget sew in the ears and paws themselves.

Where the muzzle bends, the fabric needs to be gathered a little. It is better to secure it with a pin and then stitch it.

The result should be a piece with one unsewn seam at the back (where the butt is).

Machine or hand sew all seams except the opening at the bottom of the back. Turn the toy inside out.

On the muzzle, make cuts where the eyes should be and secure them. You can make do with beads or glue half beads.

Fill the toy with padding polyester.

Sew up the hole left earlier. Sew a loop of braid in place of the tail and a button on it.

Don't forget about the button nostrils. As you can see, making this cutie is not difficult at all.

Unusual pet self made is ready to move into your home. It will also be an excellent gift for loved ones. They will definitely appreciate your efforts and care.

Fold the fabric in half, lay out the parts on it, placing the part with the fold towards the fold of the fabric. Circle them with chalk or a special marker. Don't forget the seam allowance. Cut out the blanks.

At the initial stage, sew the seams of the body, folding the blanks with the right sides inward. Leave approximately 10 cm of the seam from the back of the toy and the top edges unsewn.

Sew darts on the side parts of the head and press the seams to one side. Baste the parts of the head, not forgetting to align the control marks.

Sew all the seams on the head except the bottom edges. Turn the workpiece inside out and stuff it with filler, leaving a little space for further stitching to the body. Sew on beady eyes, embroider a nose and mouth for the bear. Place the head into the body through the opening left on the back.

Manually sew the head to the body and only then turn it inside out. Stuff the toy with stuffing and sew up the seam on the back.

Place two ear pieces with right sides facing each other and stitch them together. In the middle of each ear, fold and baste the crease. Turn out the resulting blanks. Sew them to the head, tucking the lower sections inside the ear.

Fold the paw blanks in pairs and stitch them together. Leave the top of the paws unsewn. Also, don't sew up the bottom of the hind legs, that's where the feet will be.

Sew the soles to the hind legs. Turn out all the blanks and stuff them. Now you can sew up all the remaining spaces.

Sew all the finished legs to the body. To do this, it is better to use thick threads and a long needle.
