After this, we need to process the petals and scorch them with a candle from all sides. This is why you need to take artificial fabric, because unlike natural fabric, it melts and does not burn. I used crimped silk, but it's not necessary. When singeing the top of the petal, stretch it a little in different directions so that it becomes wavy. We perform scorching using a lit candle.
When this procedure is completed, we begin to collect the flower. We take the smallest petal and twist it into a tube, it will be our center. We sew its base to secure it. Then, gathering the thread a little, we begin to sew the remaining petals around the center one by one. The base of the petals overlaps halfway.
Now let's cut out the leaves. For this flower, I decided to make them from mesh. The base is 15 cm long, and two sides are 10 cm long. We sew them on according to the same principle as in the first flower. From the mesh I cut out 3 strips 27 cm long. From them I will form a small decoration, loops with tails)))).
The flower is almost ready. Just like in the previous flower, we glue the circle base with a glue gun, on which we attach a pin with a strip. By the way, a small note: there are special pins for artificial flowers (like the one I use for this flower), but they are often very thick and leave holes when piercing clothes. In addition, they have a height, which is why there is no good fit to the thing on which the flower is pinned. Therefore, for these purposes you can use an ordinary pin, preferably a nice one))). On sale you can find a small pin and even a gold one))).
And the final stage is where you decide what the final appearance of the flower will be. There are two options: if the stiffness of the fabric used allows the flower to keep its shape well, then you don’t have to do anything else. There are several ways to make flowers, one of which involves soaking the fabric in gelatin to make it stiff. I came up with a trick where you can achieve the same effect, but without any gelatin.
If your flower is soft and you want to make it harder, then spray it with hairspray and insert it into the mug until it dries completely. The petals can then be straightened and shaped the way you want.
