Colored paper is an excellent material for crafts. You can make appliqués, various figures and many other creative things from it. In this article we will look at: how to make crafts from colored paper for children junior classes with your own hands.

You will need: thick colored paper, glue gun, ruler, scissors, tape, rubber band, pencil, pen spring.

Master Class

  1. Take a sheet of paper and a pencil, twist the tube diagonally from the corner, then secure it with tape and pull out the pencil.

  2. Twist the second piece of paper around the first tube, then separate them. The second paper tube should be slightly larger in diameter than the first so that it can be used to shoot in the future.
  3. Secure the second tube with tape, then cut off the edges.
  4. Twist 2 more paper tubes in the same way.
  5. Cut the tubes into pieces of this length: trunk - 2 tubes 15 cm long; handle – 7 tubes 5 cm long; trigger – 1 tube 8 cm long.
  6. Glue 5 cm tubes diagonally to form a handle.

  7. Glue the 8 cm tube on top of the handle so that the remaining 3 cm protrudes to the right. This is the trigger.
  8. Glue two 15cm tubes together and glue them to the top of the gun as the barrel.
  9. Roll two thin tubes from yellow paper.
  10. Bend a thin tube into a “U” shape and insert one end into the trigger and the other into the upper tube of the handle. Trim off the excess. This will be the trigger.
  11. Make a trigger guard from the second thin tube. To do this, place one end of the tube into the handle (into the second tube from the top) and glue the rest of the tube to the bottom of the barrel.

  12. Twist the pink one paper tube, flatten it and glue the handle as shown in the image. It is worth noting that the rear hole in the trigger must be open.
  13. Pull the trigger out of the top tube of the handle and insert the spring. It is worth noting that the spring should rest against the tube covering the back of the handle. Reinsert the trigger.
  14. Roll up a thin, thick tube of yellow paper, secure with tape and trim the edges so they are even.

  15. Fold the edge, put on an elastic band and secure with glue.
  16. Insert the tube with the rubber band into the lower tube of the gun barrel and pull the rubber band forward, hooking it between the two tubes.
  17. Roll paper bullets, load the gun and fire.

You will need: colored cardboard, scissors, glue stick, cotton wool, stapler.

Sisters made of colored paper

You will need: paper of two colors, 2 wooden sticks, buttons for eyes, rubber bands or strings for hands, pencil, glue.

How bright and varied creativity such as appliqué can become for children 3-4 years old. The main thing is simplicity, convenience and safety in work.

It is recommended to select scissors with rounded ends and, of course, take into account the mood and wishes of young creators. You need to get used to tinkering, starting with simple options: sun, house, butterflies. You can come up with a lot of interesting crafts on the theme “summer”. The child will be happy to display what he has planned on paper and share his impressions of what he saw on the street: the river, the bright sun, juicy strawberries, green leaves. Maybe there were drops of dew on them since yesterday morning. I wonder what they will look like on paper?

What to make it from?

For crafts, children will need:

  • colored paper;
  • cereal;
  • plasticine;
  • pieces of glass;
  • shells;
  • leather;
  • beads;
  • cotton wool;
  • newspaper;
  • threads;
  • stones;
  • paints.

Interesting models are obtained using:

  1. Colored napkins.

Tear into small pieces and roll into balls. Then draw the outlines of an object on paper and glue the balls in the center. This is a great activity for kids to develop motor skills.

  1. Papers.

Various kinds of figures are cut out and glued to the base or to the drawn contours.

  1. Dry leaves, for playing compositions on autumn theme by gluing to cardboard in the form of butterflies, birds, trees, falling leaves.
  2. Cereals.

Not many parents think about how many different exciting summer crafts they can come up with by gluing grains to paper or cardboard in the form of animals, insects, and butterflies.

  1. Cotton wool, from which you can roll small balls, draw, for example, a lamb on a cardboard base, and glue cotton balls similar to wool to its body.
  2. Egg shells, which just need to be painted with bright colors, are not a material for creativity? Can be glued to drawn templates on paper in the form of different compositions: flowers, leaves, Christmas trees, mosaic figures.

If you get creative, you can make the summer applique voluminous and fluffy using cotton wool, fringe, and colored woolen threads. Volume makes crafts on paper more alive and real.

So, let's make chickens:

  • for grass, cut a strip of green paper 6 cm wide;
  • cut along the edges in the form of a fringe;
  • coat the cut piece of paper with glue;
  • glue carefully to the base;
  • straighten the fringe with your hands;
  • cut out 3 circles of different diameters from yellow paper for the future chicken;
  • make small cuts on each circle;
  • start sequentially gluing the large, medium and small circles, lubricating the middle of each with glue;
  • Use a pencil to draw on the chicken's eyes, legs and beak, or simply cut and glue using red paper.

The chicken sketch is ready. All that remains is to add liveliness to the application and feed the birds by scattering some grains and gluing the grains onto the glue in a chaotic manner.

Kids should be given the opportunity to imagine - maybe the picture is missing the sun, a house, a stream, a green lawn, which should be painted on with colored pencils or paints, or cut out from colored paper.

Usually, by the age of three, children speak well on their own, so a joint creative process in the form of an application for children from 3 years old can become very fruitful.

Summer options

Crafts on the theme “summer” are always relevant in kindergartens. It is important to give the child the opportunity to display on paper what he has recently seen, thus expressing his emotions and impressions. As an option, you can make a street applique.

You need to prepare cotton wool, scissors, colored paper, cardboard, glue stick.

  • Take cardboard as a base, glue a black strip of asphalt at the bottom, and a white strip in the middle to create a dividing strip.
  • Glue the green one over the black stripe. It will be weed.
  • Cut rectangles out of brown paper, make slits in each for windows - you get high-rise buildings.
  • Glue the houses to the lawn, and to them roofs in the form of a trapezoid made of corrugated cardboard.
  • If you take brown corrugation and cut tree trunks from it, and leaves and Christmas trees from green corrugation, you will end up with green spaces.

What else can you add? A traffic light was cut out of black paper and glued near the road, as well as cars, using paper of different color palettes.

Other variations of paintings

For children 2, 3, and 4 years old, the following simple application options are suitable:

  • bridge over the river;
  • sea, waves, rocking boat;
  • a pyramid on paper by cutting and gluing circles of different diameters on top of each other;
  • various geometric figures in the form of a kitchen, which any little girl will like;
  • there are mushrooms in the picture, but if you paint on their eyes, mouth and nose, they will begin to smile, and the summer sun painted above will bring the mushroom meadow to life;
  • chickens on the lawn in summer: white and yellow, and butterflies fluttering nearby;
  • spring flower meadow (various small figures for petals, leaves, stems are cut out of colored paper).

Kids will carefully mix all the parts on the base, putting them together into a single whole. This kind of application is good for instilling a love of nature from an early age.

There are ready-made application kits on sale for kids containing everything they need to conduct creativity lessons at home or in kindergarten.

What does the application provide for the development of children 3-4 years old?

Of course, it develops logic, thinking, perseverance, attentiveness, and intelligence. The teacher or mother just has to choose an appropriate topic for creativity, captivate the child, explain the features of work and use of objects, and give complete freedom for imagination and fantasy.

Experts recommend carrying out the process together with the child, helping in the work, unobtrusively pointing out mistakes, and giving hints if necessary. There is no need to do all the work for a child at three or four years old. Let him try to capture something on paper on his own using various kinds of available materials. Children aged three or four usually already have their own opinions.

The task of parents and teachers is to help just a little in the process of work. Children will be happy to share their emotions and impressions on paper.

Little children never sit still because they have so much energy and desire to learn something new!

They don’t like to be bored at all and come up with a new activity every minute. One way to keep a fidget busy is to make a craft with him.

After all, already at the age of 3-4 years, kids are able to create works of art and surprise their parents.

Moreover, joint crafts for children aged 3-4 years with their own hands help develop their creativity, taste, imagination and fine motor skills.

Creative abilities are the individual characteristics of each child.

Some people know how to draw well, others show talent in singing, and others are interested in creating crafts with their own hands.

Each child has his own interests, character and individual imagination.

First of all, creativity helps to absorb new information, include your imagination and fantasy, put into practice the life experience gained.

For one child, creativity can become a favorite activity that does not require much effort. And for another, backbreaking labor that does not cause positive emotions and the desire to do it. But if you try to develop at least small creative abilities, then it will be easier for the child to communicate, receive new information, and learn something.

It is better to start developing such abilities with early age. It is at 3-4 years that a foundation of knowledge is formed, which will be improved and replenished throughout our lives.

If an adult’s creative abilities were not developed in childhood and parents did not pay due attention to this, then they are unlikely to appear later.

Paper mice

In early preschool age, children develop fantasy and imagination, they compose stories with fictional characters and events.

Parents have a positive influence on the development of creative abilities. By communicating with the baby and guiding him, they help him explore the world through creativity, “with his own” hands. There are many types of activities that help a child develop at this age, these are: games, modeling, drawing, reading books, and of course, making crafts. Some useful tips

  1. for the development of creative abilities in children:
  2. Create an environment in which it will be easier to work.
  3. Create with your child.
  4. Support and praise, believe in his success.
  5. Make sure that you always have creative materials at hand: paper, paints, brushes, plasticine, cardboard.

Do not suppress the imagination of a small person. The leading activity of young children preschool age is role-playing game

. We must try to accompany creative activities with even the simplest scenario. This will make it more interesting for the baby, and he will be more willing to complete the task.

The benefits of crafts in education

Children's creativity contributes to the child's mental development and understanding of the world around him. Developing fine motor skills hands, spatial thinking

, entire groups of skills and emotional assessment of what is happening are improved. All these advantages, of course, apply to doing crafts.

When creating crafts with your own hands, a child first of all gets acquainted with various materials and their properties. By cutting out colored paper and gluing twigs and leaves onto cardboard, the child creates beautiful pictures and develops his artistic taste. Material for crafts is quite easy to find, the main thing is to turn on your imagination and imagination.

  • Along with standard paper, cardboard and plasticine, you can use items that are in everyday use:
  • eggshell;
  • cotton pads;
  • matches;

plastic bottles. While walking with your baby you can find a lot natural material

  • . The most popular of them:
  • chestnuts;
  • dried flower;

leaves.

Of course, in other types of activities, parents will be assistants or mentors for the beginning “artist.” But doing crafts together is easy and rewarding!

This has a positive effect on the development of the child’s personality and his communication with the outside world. You should always introduce your child to something new and learn with him, supporting him in all his endeavors. Creative success!

Video on the topic

Already at 1 year old, children are ready to get acquainted with the application.

But in order not to discourage a child’s interest in this type of creativity, you need to follow several important rules.

In this article you will find ideas for applications with children aged 1 – 3 years old, and learn about the rules for teaching them.

You can download application templates one file. The link contains more than 100 templates for all types of applications that I talk about in this article.

You will also find a large number of ideas in the album VK group “It’s easy to be a mother”.

In our classes we also use ready-made manuals for creating applications. I will review such benefits in one of the following articles.

The benefits of applications

Many parents postpone appliqué lessons until later in life, believing that one year old baby it is too early. But that's not true.

While practicing appliqué, the child:

  • develops fine motor skills,
  • improves hand coordination;
  • gains new sensory experiences;
  • gets acquainted with the surrounding world;
  • develops speech (while playing out the plot and discussing what you are doing);
  • activates imagination and creativity.

This is exactly what needs to be intensively developed at an early age.

How to make appliques with children

Classes should bring joy to both the child and the parents.

Moms usually have two difficulties: lack of ideas and lack of time to prepare.

In this article I’m just sharing applique ideas for kids.

As for the second difficulty, I believe that preparation for any classes and not only appliqué should take a minimum of time. There is no need to pervert and come up with everything extraordinary and complex.

Neat appliqués made using complex techniques look beautiful in Instagram photos, but in reality, if the child is small, everything turns out not so colorful. Either the entire sheet is covered in glue, or the elements are glued crookedly, or even in a different place altogether. And this is wonderful - it means that it was the child who did this appliqué (under the strict guidance of his mother, of course, and not with her hands).

Take it simple ideas for use, draw, cut from what you have, in a matter of minutes. You are not preparing for an exhibition, but doing one of the hundreds of crafts with your child that he still has to do.

And only later, when these activities become commonplace, complicate the technique, come up with something new.

As for children, here you need to remember the following:

  • The application is, first of all, a game, which means we weave in an interesting and understandable plot for the child;
  • Applications should be simple and accessible for his age;
  • No coercion;
  • The lesson should take no more than 5-7 minutes with kids and 15-20 minutes with older children. And with some fidgets, even 3 minutes will be enough;
  • There should be nothing unnecessary on the table - only glue and paper (or other material that you use);
  • Alternate the materials from which you make the applique: variety is important for the child;
  • If the child is patient enough, then you can cut out the details in front of him. So the child will become interested in scissors. And closer to three years, if desired, he will be able to cut out simple parts himself;
  • If the child is impatient and gets tired quickly, prepare everything you need in advance;
  • Classes must be regular. We do appliqués about once a week.

On many crafts we write the date and age and put them in a folder.

I find most of my ideas in a book. Elena Yanushko “Applique with young children”(Labyrinth, Ozone). A wonderful guide that presents a methodology for conducting appliqué classes with young children.

A huge number of ideas with detailed description each lesson, including what you should say to your child while doing the appliqué. In general, I recommend everyone to read it.

What to make applications from

To diversify your activities, it is useful alternate materials. Ideal for making appliqués:

  • colored paper: plain, double-sided, velvet,
  • napkins,
  • stationery stickers,
  • stickers,
  • magazine clippings,
  • foil,
  • felt,
  • textile,
  • cotton wool and cotton pads,
  • plasticine,
  • natural materials,
  • cereals,
  • sand,
  • salt,
  • insulating tape.

Try to use cardboard or thick paper as a basis. We most often use A5 format in our works, sometimes A4.

Where possible, it is better to color the base template and cut it into the desired shape (Christmas tree, vase, etc.) - it’s more interesting for the child.

As for glue, you must have both a glue stick and regular PVA. Now, at 3 years old, Antoshka suddenly began to disdain to pick up a piece of paper with ordinary glue, which he applied with all his heart. And we temporarily switched exclusively to glue sticks.

Ideal for children who are barely one year old. No glue required. Nowadays there are a lot of different stickers, they even come in the shape of animals and cars, but many games can be created with ordinary ones.

Here are some simple ideas:

Hide the mice(bunnies, etc.). Draw a few mice on a piece of paper and ask your child to hide them from the cat. The child places the sticker directly on the mouse. Then it’s so interesting to see who’s sitting there. You can cut out leaves from stickers and hide worms, bugs, etc. under them.

Can also be glued garages for cars.

Raindrops. Draw a cloud and invite your child to glue raindrops - small rectangles cut from the sticky part of the sticker.

You can make rays for the sun, petals for a flower, grass, whiskers for a cat, needles for a hedgehog, scales for a fish. From small round stickers or decals - spots for a giraffe, balls for a Christmas tree.

All this can be done and on a magnetic board for drawing:

Stickers also great fun and material for appliques. You can buy them in whole themed sets.

Simple applications with a chaotic arrangement of elements

This is the first stage in mastering the art of appliqué.

Here you also need to print (or draw) and cut out the base for the applique in advance, and cut out the remaining elements. Let the child decide for himself where exactly he wants to glue this or that element. Here are some ideas:

  • Salt cucumbers, tomatoes;
  • Cut out the frying pan and bake pancakes in it;
  • Cook jam, mushroom soup;
  • We draw a plate and feed the rubber animals with oranges, cabbage, carrots, etc.;
  • We decorate the Christmas tree, hat, mitten, boot;
  • We glue leaves, apples, pears to the trees, and plant vegetables in the beds;
  • We put fish in the aquarium, ducklings in the pond;
  • We collect mushrooms in a basket;
  • We cut out a thin strip - a road for cars and glue the cars.

You can also make ice from foil:

Applications from geometric shapes

At 1.5 - 2 years old, applications can become more complex. Print or draw outlines of the elements on the base. Invite your child to glue the appliqué elements onto these outlines.

I print out the template, cut out the geometric elements, trace it on colored paper and cut it out.

This makes it convenient to make applications not only from geometric shapes, but also any other form.

Applications without outlines

This is a complicated version of the previous type of application. The difficulty is that there is already no ready-made contours.

First, the child, together with you, lays out the elements of the application on the base to see what should or can happen. And only then glues it.

There is simply an endless number of options here. If the child is small, then it will take a little time to prepare. But closer to three years, you will want to do something original, and then you will have to spend time both searching for ideas and preparing.

The simplest option:

A little more complicated:

A child can make such applications by the age of three. Here we also study the numbers:

Applications from magazines and ready-made pictures

In order to make appliqués, you don’t even need to have colored paper. Use old ones magazines, catalogs goods.
