Currently one of current problems humanity - raising children - is discussed by parents, teachers, psychologists and sociologists. Research by domestic sociologists shows that parents of preschool children consider raising a child among their important life values. The role of the family is to gradually introduce the child into society so that his development is consistent with the nature of the child and the culture of the country where he was born. And for the full development of their son or daughter, mothers and fathers must actively participate in the life of the preschool educational institution. In the middle group, children become more independent, inquisitive, their speech develops quickly, but at the same time, children are still too keen on games and have unstable attention. The teacher’s task is to help parents overcome this duality, better understand their child, and also advise them on various aspects of children’s upbringing.
Theoretical aspects of working with the parent team in kindergarten
In general, work with parents in a preschool institution is aimed at solving the following tasks:
- Help moms and dads understand various aspects of preschool pedagogy and psychology.
- Prevent inappropriate actions towards the baby. Indeed, depending on the type of character and temperament of the child, a certain approach is required.
- Involve the family in cooperation - jointly solving problems of an educational and educational nature (production of didactic materials, attributes for games, providing children with assistance in mastering educational areas, participation in leisure and open events).
- Help bring the parent team closer together.
Currently, teachers have developed many effective forms of interaction with parents in order to involve them in the educational process. Among them we can distinguish traditional and non-traditional ones.
This division is very arbitrary, since recently many innovative ideas have taken root and are often practiced by teachers.
Traditional forms of interaction
- Conversations (both group and individual) are the most accessible form of establishing contact with the family. During them, the teacher conveys certain information to parents, listens to their point of view, and answers questions. Individual approach is especially important here, since all adults, like children, are different, have their own characters, attitudes, personal and professional prejudices. The conversation should begin with neutral questions, smoothly moving to the main topic. Even if a teacher wants to point out shortcomings in the behavior of a particular child, then the conversation needs to start with his personal strengths. Examples of topics for conversations: “Cultivating hard work in a preschooler,” “How to help a child become more independent,” “Why hardening is important.”
- Thematic consultations. Unlike a conversation, they are aimed at giving parents specific, qualified advice. Consultations can also be group and individual, planned and unscheduled. Examples: “Testoplasty for children 4–5 years old”, “ Labor education child of the fifth year of life,” “How to develop mathematical abilities at home.”
- Parent meeting is the most common form of work. As a rule, meetings are held once a quarter (if the teacher wishes, this can be done more often) and are a discussion of accumulated issues. However, for parents to have a positive attitude towards this event, it must be interesting, creative, and not just come down to a monotonous sorting out of current problems.
- Family participation in project and experimental activities groups. Moms and dads collect the necessary information, create their own presentations, colorful collages, wall newspapers, make crafts together with their children, and draw pictures.
